My financee has a gambling problem that is destroying the possibility of us moving forward together. I ask for prayer as to what God wants to occur in this relationship as I am ready to quit the relationship as ### does not seem to get it that I am not going to stand by while he destroys our future. I need prayer for divine intervention to stop this sin!

I am praying that ### does stop gambling. But be careful -- if he does stop, make sure it is for good before going on with the relationship. Pray to God for strength and guidance. Do not give in to what I call "magical thinking," i.e., telling yourself this person will change if you marry him. It just does not work that way. It's a rule of life, similar to the truth that the "rebound guy" -- the one you date after some big relationship is over -- never ends up being the one. May be exceptions, but 99% of the time, it's true. God bless.
