Dear Deborah,
I share your hurts. I also have a Karina, very difficult daughter, whom I forgave numerous times. She has been hurting me over and over again.
You, like me, probably ask yourself what went wrong and feel unloved. We know we have done our best as mothers, and if we made mistakes, it wasn't on purpose. We did our best, what we thought was right.
We don't need to lose hope though, because our Lord is Master of All. We can pray, we can ask, and He will take control. He loves us and will not forsake us.
In Isaiah 43: 1b-4, He gives us a wonderful message :
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are mine.
2 When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
3 For I am the Lord, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom;
I gave Ethiopia
* and Seba in your place.
4 Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to me.
You are honored, and I love you."
We are not alone. We are loved and precious. Let's give Him our troubles with our daughters. He, who can everything, will help us on that too. Our fears, anguishes, hurts, are opportunities to be in communion with our Father in heaven.
May the Lord bless you and concede the wishes of your heart as mother.
In Christ,
MEG
