We hear your deep concern for your cats and your desire for them to be safe and well-behaved in your home. While we understand your urgency, we must gently correct some aspects of your request to align with biblical truth.

First, we want to emphasize that our authority and power come solely from Jesus Christ. It is only through His name and by His blood that we have access to the Father and can approach Him in prayer. Scripture tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). We do not "speak life," "command," "declare," or "demand" things into existence as if we have control over creation, that power belongs to God alone. Jesus said, "Apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5 WEB). Instead, we humbly bring our requests to God in prayer, trusting in His will and sovereignty.

The language of "blood" in your request also needs clarification. While we honor the power of Jesus' blood, which cleanses us from sin ("But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin", 1 John 1:7 WEB), we must not use it as a formula or incantation. The blood of Jesus is not a magical tool but a sacred symbol of His sacrifice for our redemption.

Regarding your cats, we can pray for their safety, well-being, and behavior, asking God to guide them and help them to be a blessing in your home. However, we must remember that animals are part of God’s creation, and while we can care for them, we do not have dominion over them in the way we might over our own actions or choices. God has given us stewardship over His creation ("God said, 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth'", Genesis 1:26 WEB), but this does not mean we control their every move.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up [their cats] to You, asking for Your protection and guidance over them. Lord, we pray that You would help them to be safe, obedient, and a joy in the home. Give [them] wisdom and patience in caring for them, and help [them] to see Your hand in all things. We trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You care for all of Your creation. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We also encourage you to reflect on Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths" (WEB). Instead of trying to control outcomes, surrender your concerns to God and trust in His perfect plan. If there are specific behavioral issues with your cats, consider practical steps to train or manage them, always seeking God’s wisdom in the process.

While we wait and pray, there is a simple step you can take right now. Walk quietly through your house and yard, calling their names in a calm, steady voice. Cats often hide very close to home when they are scared, and they can pick up on our anxiety. Shaking a treat bag or opening a can of food can sometimes draw them out of a hiding spot. Leave a door cracked open if you can do so safely, so they have a clear way back inside.

Jesus, we bring this beloved pet owner to You. You see where these cats are right now, and You know the worry in their person’s heart. Quiet that anxious, racing spirit and replace it with Your steady peace. We ask You to lead these cats back to their home, keep them safe from any harm, and help settle them into the safe space prepared for them. You are carrying a great deal of distress, and it comes spilling out in strong words because your heart is so tangled up with love for these little creatures God has put beside you. I hear that, the urgent, desperate ache to have them back, and safe, and doing what is right. You are not wrong to care so deeply. The Lord who notices the sparrow's fall, the Lord who made the great sea creatures and the tiny conies of the rock, fashioned those cats and knows every hair on their backs. He has not forgotten them, and He has not forgotten you.

Sometimes when we are frightened, we grab for a kind of power, we speak loudly, we command, we try to take hold of things ourselves because the loss feels unbearable. But the strongest place you can stand is not upon your own declarations; it is upon the finished work of Jesus. You mention the blood of Jesus. That is your true ground. That precious blood did not purchase salvation for you so that you might grasp at control, but so that you might rest in the shelter of a Father’s care. Your cats are not out of His sight. The door they slipped through did not surprise Him, and His hand can guide them home in ways you cannot engineer.

You want them to be good for you. That is a right and natural desire, a little echo of how our Father teaches us obedience for our own well-being. But a creature’s goodness, like our own, cannot be wrung out by force; it comes by steady love, by a safe home, by the patient boundaries you provide. The catio you picture, that safe place, that is a wise provision. Ask Him to give you the quiet patience to establish it, and to use ordinary means. His Spirit does not bypass the simple hinges and latches; He works through them.

I do not think He is far from you in this darkness. Cast the whole panic, the whole jumble of commands, upon Him. You may say, “Lord, I am weary with fright. My little ones are astray. I cannot bring them back. I entrust them to the blood of Jesus, and I ask You to do what I cannot.” That is not weak speech. That is the boldness of a child who clings to a father’s hand in the night.

Let us pray.

O Lord Jesus, You who calmed the raging sea with a word, look upon Your anxious child. Gather these wandering cats back to the safety of their home. Quiet the pounding heart that drives so many frantic words. Cover this household with the peace of Your shed blood, not as a charm, but as a pledge that no creature is beneath Your notice. Grant wisdom for the making of their shelter, and in the waiting hours, let a deep rest replace the striving. In Your tender and all-powerful name, we leave this burden with You. Amen.

You treat the precious blood of Jesus as though it were a spell to command creation, but the Lord does not bow to our decrees. The woman with the issue of blood touched merely the hem of His garment with trembling faith, and she was healed; she did not shout claims and demands into the air. The friends who lowered the paralytic through the roof did not stand and declare his healing into existence, they simply brought him before Christ in silence and left the whole matter to Him. Scripture says, "Seeing their faith," not "hearing their commands." Faith is trust, not a formula to control God's hand or your cats' feet. When you cry, "I speak, I create, I command, I demand," you make yourself the author of life, but only God gives life to all things. The High Priest Jesus is within the heavens; we approach Him with humble confession, holding fast to true doctrine, not with arrogant words that trample on His sovereignty.

Do you desire your cats' return? Then lay your need before the Lord as those men laid the sick man down, and commit all to His goodness. Pray, "If it be Your will, Lord, bring them home and make them gentle." That is the faith that receives, when, like Rahab, you trust His mercy and do not perish with the unbelieving who think blood is magic. The blood of Christ cleanses us from sin and opens the way to the Father; it is not a tool to edit your circumstances by shouting. So set aside these "create and demand" formulas, which have no root in the apostles' teaching, and let your faith become effectual by acknowledging every good thing in Christ Jesus with a willing heart. Then, whether the cats return or not, you will possess Him whole, and His body set before you in the holy mysteries is far greater than any door they slipped through.
