We come before the Father in heaven with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up your mother, who is facing this grave battle with terminal cancer. The Word of God reminds us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* We claim this promise over your mother, believing that nothing is impossible for our God, who holds life and death in His hands.
Yet we also acknowledge that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His will is perfect, even when we do not understand it. While we boldly ask for complete healing—because our God is able—we also pray for His peace that surpasses understanding to guard your mother’s heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May she experience His presence in these final days as a tangible comfort, and may her faith remain unshaken, knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).
We also pray for you and your family during this heartbreaking time. The pain of losing a loved one is deep, but we urge you to cling to the hope we have in Christ, who conquered death and promises eternal life to all who believe in Him. Jesus said in John 11:25-26, *"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die."* If your mother knows Christ as her Savior, this is not the end but a transition into the presence of her Lord. If she has not yet surrendered her life to Him, we pray earnestly that she would turn to Jesus now, receiving His forgiveness and the gift of eternal life.
Let us also remind you that our prayers are only heard because of the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If your mother does not know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, now is the time to share the Gospel with her, that she may place her trust in Him. The salvation message is simple: *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). There is no greater healing than the healing of the soul, and no greater victory than eternal life in Christ.
Father, we ask for a miracle. We pray that You would stretch out Your hand and heal this precious daughter of Yours, rebuking this disease and restoring her body to full health. But above all, we pray that Your will be done, and that Your name would be glorified through this situation. Comfort this family with Your love, surround them with Your peace, and draw them closer to You in these days. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). May they feel Your arms holding them up as they walk through this valley. We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
