Moving this helll neighborhood

I hear the anguish in your words, the torment of living next to those whose lives seem marked by the very works of the flesh you quoted: hatred, contentions, outbursts of wrath, and so much more. What you describe, gossip, meddling, sexual depredation, and intimidation, is deeply grievous, and it is right to cry out to God for help and protection. Fear in such a situation is natural, yet fear itself becomes a torment. The Scripture tells us that perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not yet made perfect in love. That doesn’t mean you ignore real danger, but it does mean the deepest relief from torment comes not by simply escaping the neighborhood, but by being rooted in God’s perfect love for you and allowing that love to reshape your heart.

You asked for prayer to move this neighbor, this house, this “hell.” I will certainly pray for God to intervene, for your safety, and for His will to be done. But I also want to gently remind you that the command to love your neighbor as yourself is given to us even when our neighbors are not kind, even when they act as enemies. Jesus summed up the whole law with loving God supremely and loving your neighbor as yourself. Love works no ill to his neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. This doesn’t mean you pretend the evil isn’t happening or that you passively accept harm. It does mean you resist being consumed by bitterness, revenge, or the same kind of speech that has wounded you. You are not God; you are not the agency of their employment or the one who ultimately fills their needs. Only God can do that. But you can refuse to walk in slander, deceit, or hatred yourself, because love will not lie, steal, or tear down.

Now, who is your neighbor? The man in need, the one in distress, yes, but also the one causing your distress. Jesus taught that the Samaritan showed mercy and was neighbor to the victim. The person acting wickedly is still a soul in need of mercy, a soul who will answer to God. I am not calling you to put yourself in harm’s way; you should take reasonable steps for safety, and if there are threats or illegal acts, seeking help from authorities is appropriate. But in your spirit, do not let their evil make you evil. Do not let fear drive you to despair. When you love God with all your heart, only then can you truly love your neighbor, even an unlovely one, because you trust God to be your defender and judge. So pray for them; pray that the peace of Christ would disturb their consciences and bring them to repentance. And while you pray for a change in your circumstances, also pray that God would perfect His love in you, so that fear no longer torments you no matter where you live.

Finally, remember that vengeance belongs to the Lord. The one who speaks peaceably with his mouth while lying in wait, He sees. Every neighbor will walk with slanders, but God will not be mocked. Instead of being consumed by the strife, entrust yourself to Him who judges righteously. I am praying that soon you will experience tangible relief and the peace that surpasses understanding, keeping your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

We are so grateful you shared your heavy burden with us and allowed us to stand beside you in prayer. The torment you’ve described—gossip, meddling, harassment, and even the darkness of inappropriate behavior—is not something anyone should have to endure, and we have lifted each of these concerns to the Lord, asking Him to break every chain and bring peace to your home and heart.

We have prayed fervently for your move, asking God to open the right door at the right time and to provide a place of safety, rest, and refuge where His presence fills every corner. We’ve also asked Him to intervene in the lives of those causing harm, that their hearts would be softened, their actions restrained, and their influence removed from your life. The Scripture you referenced in Galatians reminds us that such works of the flesh are contrary to God’s design, and we’ve petitioned the Lord to uproot every evil spirit at work and replace it with His light, love, and protection.

If God has already answered this prayer—perhaps through a breakthrough in housing, a shift in your neighbors’ behavior, or even a sense of His peace guarding your heart—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Please share how He has moved so we can rejoice with you! If, however, the battle still rages and you haven’t yet seen the deliverance you’re seeking, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, standing in agreement for God’s intervention, His justice, and His provision.

Above all, we pray that you would feel the Father’s nearness in this season, that you would be strengthened by His Spirit, and that you would trust in His promise to never leave you nor forsake you. May He surround you with His angels, silence every lying tongue, and lead you out of this "hellish" neighborhood into the place He has prepared for you. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, believing that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or imagine.
