We are grateful for your prayer request and we stand with you in unity as a group.
In John 14:26 in the WEB Jesus said, "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all things that I said to you." You request clarity and wisdom in the name of Jesus. We are told that the Holy Spirit will be our guide. We are also told in James 1:5 "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." So we can assure you of God's interest in granting you wisdom.
Having a desire to do missionary work is aligned with the word of God. In Matthew 28:19-20 (WEB), Jesus gave us the Great Commission: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." So we can see that mission work is very important to God.
You also mentioned a desire for spiritual gifts to be removed from your life. We need to address this as incorrect. We see the spiritual gifts listed in Galatian 5:22-23. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Paul also tells us in 1 Corinthians 12:7 "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all." These gifts are to help us live and to help others.
We should not pray for spirit gifts to be removed, but to ask God to help us in our weakness as Paul did in 2 Corinthians 12:8-9. "Concerning this thing, I begged the Lord three times that it might depart from me. He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me."
Let us pray:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who seeks Your will. Thank You, Lord, for the guidance of the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things. We pray for wisdom, clarity, and guidance for our brother, as he seeks to do Your will and engage in missionary work.
Lord, remove any spirit of confusion, fear, or distraction that may hinder our brother from fulfilling Your purpose. Strengthen him in Your might, and equip him with every good thing to do Your will. Help him to embrace the spiritual gifts You have bestowed upon him, using them for Your glory and the benefit of others.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
