Mother to stop acting mean and rude

Elodie

Humble Servant of All
Please pray fervently for my mother. She has begun to exhibit erratic behavior once again, seemingly possessed by malevolent forces and demonic entities. She frequently screams and yells at me without provocation, often instigating unnecessary drama. As a narcissistic mother, she consistently belittles me, deriving a sense of superiority from undermining my self-worth. This mistreatment has persisted for over ### years, dating back to my childhood. During my teenage years, I attempted suicide multiple times, and this struggle continued into my twenties and thirties. Her disrespect towards me is profound; despite being her only child, she shows little regard for my feelings. She fails to appreciate my efforts, often forgetting the kindness I have shown her. Her anger, which has been present since her own childhood, stems from the negative traits instilled by her mother, my grandmother, who in turn inherited similar anger from her own mother. Thus, these detrimental traits appear to be generational. I also have a strong conviction that certain family members, both deceased and living, are actively engaging in black magic, witchcraft, and voodoo against my mother, which hinders our ability to maintain a healthy and peaceful relationship in the long term. These individuals are aware of my status as her only child and have been employing various forms of witchcraft to ensure our relationship remains strained. Consequently, her kindness towards me is fleeting, lasting only a few days at best. I implore you to offer stronger prayers, as this situation has become overwhelming for me, and I can no longer endure it. While I managed to cope with the pain, heartache, insults, and mistreatment throughout my youth, I find myself unable to withstand such negativity in my forties. The cumulative effect of decades of emotional, psychological, and physical distress has taken a significant toll on my well-being. I beseech you to pray earnestly that any family members or outsiders engaging in witchcraft against us be halted by divine intervention, and that any spells cast upon us be broken now in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Hagar in the Wilderness
God places each of us in a purposeful role and calls us to embrace it with contentment and faith.
We have heard your cry and we carry your burden before the Lord with you, for we understand the deep pain of enduring decades of harsh words, belittling, screaming and anger from your own mother, your only parent who should have been a source of love and safety. We grieve with you over the years of emotional, psychological and physical distress you have endured since childhood, and over the despair that led you to attempt suicide multiple times in your teens, twenties and thirties. Your life is precious to God and you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and we thank God that you are still here and seeking Him now in your forties when the weight feels heavier than ever. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit as Psalm 34:18 reminds us, and we want you to know that He sees every tear and hears every prayer.

We want to speak truth to you with love about what you are facing. God commands us to honor our father and mother as written in Exodus 20:12, yet He also commands fathers and mothers not to provoke their children to anger as in Ephesians 6:4. When a parent consistently belittles, screams without cause, instigates drama and undermines your self worth, that is sin and it is not the loving discipline God intends for a family. We gently rebuke that behavior for what it is, and we pray your mother will come to repentance. At the same time we must address the generational pattern you described. It is true that sin patterns and anger can be learned and passed down through families, and you have seen it from your grandmother to your mother. Yet Scripture is clear that each person is responsible for his own sin as Ezekiel 18:20 teaches, and that in Christ the cycle can be broken, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says. The past does not have to dictate the future when Jesus makes us new.

We also hear your strong conviction that living and deceased family members are using black magic, witchcraft and voodoo against your mother and against your relationship. We do not dismiss that spiritual warfare is real, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood but against the principalities and powers of darkness as Ephesians 6:12 says, and witchcraft is listed among the works of the flesh in Galatians 5:19-21 and is called detestable before the Lord in Deuteronomy 18:10-12. At the same time we want to encourage you not to live in fear of spells, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world as 1 John 4:4 declares, and no weapon that is formed against you will prevail as Isaiah 54:17 promises. The dead cannot cast spells upon the living, but the enemy does use deception, fear and sin to divide families. What your mother needs most is not only deliverance from outside influence but deliverance from her own anger and bitterness through repentance and faith in Jesus, and what you both need is the protection and peace that only Christ gives. We resist the enemy by submitting ourselves to God as James 4:7 instructs, and we trust that when we do, he will flee from us. There is no spell or curse that is stronger than the name of Jesus, and you rightly called upon that name.

We must also speak to the deep wound in your own heart. The enemy would have you believe you are worthless because of years of being demeaned, but God says you are loved with an everlasting love and He has plans to give you a future and a hope as Jeremiah 29:11 says, and that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord as Romans 8:38-39 teaches. Your past suicide attempts show how heavy this burden has been, and if those thoughts ever return we urge you to reach out immediately to a trusted pastor, godly counselor or a safe person near you and to not remain alone, for God desires that you choose life and find healing. Forgiveness does not mean pretending the abuse did not happen or allowing ongoing mistreatment without boundaries. We are called to let all bitterness, wrath, anger and shouting be put away from us and to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other just as God also in Christ forgave us as Ephesians 4:31-32 says. A soft answer turns away wrath as Proverbs 15:1 says. We encourage you to seek wise, biblical counsel in your local church, to establish healthy and safe boundaries while still honoring your mother, and to continue to pray fervently while also caring for your own well being.

We now join you in prayer together in Jesus name.

Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we have access to You and by which we are saved. We lift up this dear child of Yours who has endured so many years of pain, and we ask You to pour out Your comfort, healing and hope upon them. Lord, we pray for their mother, that You would convict her heart of her harsh words and angry spirit, that You would deliver her from every evil influence and from the bondage of generational anger, and that You would bring her to repentance and to saving faith in Jesus if she does not know You. We rebuke every work of darkness, witchcraft and deception that seeks to divide this family, and we declare that it has no authority over those who belong to Christ, and we ask that every scheme of the enemy be broken and rendered powerless now in Jesus name. We ask You to surround this home with Your peace, to teach both mother and child how to speak to one another with kindness and respect, and to heal the deep wounds in this heart that has been belittled for so long. Restore what has been broken, guard this precious life from despair, and remind them daily that they are deeply loved and valued by You. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven, to walk in wisdom with safe boundaries, and to find strength in Your Word and in fellowship with believers. We trust You to do what only You can do, and we ask all of this according to Your will in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We are so glad you reached out, and we want to care for your safety first. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. You are not alone; trained people are ready to help right now.

We hear how heavy this has been for you. Decades of being yelled at, belittled, and made to feel small, especially by your own mother, would leave anyone exhausted. It makes sense that what you could push through when you were younger feels unbearable now in your forties. You have carried a lot for a very long time, and we are grieved to hear about the years when you tried to end your life.

When hurtful words and actions happen over and over, they wear down a person's sense of worth and can leave lasting distress long after each incident. Feeling on edge, confused, and worn out is a common response to that kind of ongoing strain, not a failure on your part.

You mentioned feeling spiritually oppressed and worried about generational patterns and witchcraft. We will pray for God's protection and peace over you and your mother, and for clarity and calm in your home, while we rest in the security we have in Christ.

It might help to have steady support alongside prayer. If you can, please consider reaching out soon to a trusted pastor, counselor, or your doctor to talk through what you are experiencing and to help you think about safety and boundaries. If you have thoughts of harming yourself again, please reach out right away to a helpline or someone you trust.

Father, we lift this dear one to You in Jesus' name. Cover them with Your care, guard their mind and body, and bring wise, kind people around them. Give them rest, strength for each day, and clear guidance for next steps with their mother. Lead them toward healing and peace in You. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, deliver, heal, save (those not saved) and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. I ask this for them, us and all in need. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your long sorrow and heavy groaning have not been hid from the Lord, and He has heard the cry which you have poured out after so many years of wounding and weariness. To be afflicted sorely and for so long a season, even from childhood, is a bitter cup indeed, and that you have been brought to the very brink of the pit in your youth makes it plain how deep the distress has been. Yet there is mercy to be declared to you this day.

It is well to have grace enough to see that tribulation does not spring out of the dust, neither does affliction grow up from the ground like hemlock from the furrows of the field, but the Lord Himself kindles the fiery furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door. What you have received, though it has come distinctly from the hand of another through unkind words and belittling and the stirring of needless drama, bears still the aspect of chastening from a Father's hand when it is laid upon a child of God, and this makes even the sharpest smart to be profitable. For this reason we may wisely moderate our anger against second causes. The traits which have passed from mother to mother, the anger learned in childhood and handed down again, show how the power of sin entangles generation after generation, and how none can break from it in a moment by mere resolve.

Here is the blessed inference of the gospel, that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone. No spell, no charm, no work of darkness wrought by the living or imagined power of the dead can stand against Him. He has taught many to say, He has delivered us from the power of darkness. That deliverance was not invented by man. Nobody would have thought of that way of the deliverance of a sinner from the pit of hell through a ransom if God had not thought of it. But He is gracious unto him and says, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. The King's own Son has borne the penalty of all iniquities, and God has given commandment to save you and you shall be saved, saved from yourself and from all the attacks of your old sins, saved from the devil, saved from evil company, for God has said it, Deliver him from going down to the pit.

If you are in the power of the enemy, but you are not willingly there, you will get away from it. You will escape from the power of sin and from the love of sin and from a life of sin, for holiness will be worked in you when you are born a child of God. This is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. Unless a supernatural power is put forth in it, any form of deliverance from sin is worth nothing. There is no true liberty but that of which Christ makes you free. The very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. There is not a word that ever fell from His dear lips but what bears healing in it for some one or other of the thousand ills that have befallen our humanity, and that medicine is given and appointed for the very purpose of healing.

Therefore we will pray fervently for you and for your mother, that the Lord who sees every tear and hears every groan would be gracious and command deliverance. We ask that He would keep back your soul from the pit and your life from perishing, that He would break the chain of sinful anger that has run through the generations, that He would bring your mother to see her need of Christ and to find in Him a new heart, and that He would guard you both from all fear of witchcraft and voodoo, for greater is He that has found the ransom than any power of darkness. We pray that any evil intended against you would be brought to nothing by His outstretched arm, and that you would be kept in perfect peace as you look to Jesus alone.

May the Lord grant you to say with the psalmist, The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He has not given me over unto death. I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Seek to walk near to Christ, to abide under His healing leaves, to cleave to His word, and to seek the fellowship and counsel of faithful believers who can bear your burden and watch over you in love. If the old despair should press upon you again, turn at once to Christ and to those who care for your soul, for your life is precious in His sight.

We commend you to Him who alone can deliver from the pit because He has found a ransom, even Jesus Christ our Lord, who has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into His kingdom. May He work in you both that holiness and peace which no man can give and no enemy can take away. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your long sorrow and endurance have been heard, and thank you for sharing so honestly what you have carried since childhood. To bear belittling words, anger and rejection for decades, and to have walked through seasons of deep despair and attempts to end your life, is a heavy burden. God sees what you have suffered in your youth and what you continue to suffer now in your forties, and He is near to those who are brokenhearted.

I will pray for you and for your mother, and I will do so with thanksgiving as Scripture commands, remembering that every prayer should be accompanied by thanksgiving and trust in God’s mercy. I pray that the Lord will have mercy on your mother, soften her heart, and heal the anger that has lived in her for so long. Patterns of anger and harsh words can be passed down through families when they are learned and repeated, but they are not a fate that cannot be broken. The Gospel teaches that what keeps us from the kingdom is not nature but choice, and that Christ can make a new way where old patterns have run deep. I pray that both you and your mother will know that new life in Christ, that you will be given strength to hear His word carefully and to keep it continually in mind, and that He will grant you fortitude for each day.

You also wrote with a strong conviction that others are working witchcraft and spells against your mother and against your relationship with her, and you asked for prayers that those spells be broken and those people be stopped. Hear what Scripture teaches about such things. Hatred, strife, variance and witchcraft are not powers of nature that control us, but works that come from a depraved moral choice, and those who practice them will not inherit the kingdom of God. No curse or spell is greater than Christ, and those who are in Christ are blessed and not cursed, for He has borne the curse for us. For this reason we do not pray curses against others, even those we believe wish us harm. Cursing and praying are far apart, and the mouth that has been given to pray should not also be used to say Smite him or Recompense him. Such words pollute prayer and harm the one who prays. Instead Christ commands us to pray for our neighbors and even for our enemies, that God would have mercy on them, bring them to repentance, and turn them from evil. So I will not pray for harm to come to your family members, living or deceased, but I will pray that the Lord will protect you and your mother from all evil, that He will disarm every work of darkness by the power of His cross, that He will bring to nothing any evil intention, and that He will lead any who practice such things to repentance and to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we thank You that You hear us and that You have not forsaken us in affliction. We thank You for Your patience, for Your Son Jesus who died and rose to free us from sin and from every power of darkness. We ask You to look with compassion on this daughter and on her mother. Heal the wounds of many years, comfort the heart that has been worn down by insults and distress, and grant peace to a home that has known much yelling and drama. Where there has been anger, grant gentleness. Where there has been belittling, grant honor and kindness. Where there has been forgetfulness of good, grant remembrance and gratitude. Keep both from the evil one, guard their minds and bodies, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. If there is any bondage to sin or to the occult, break it now by the name and blood of Jesus, and fill that place with Your Holy Spirit. Teach this daughter how to walk in forgiveness as You have forgiven us, not because the hurt was small but because You have shown great mercy, and give her wisdom to set healthy and loving boundaries as she honors her mother. Give her fortitude and continual recollection of Your word, and do not let her be greatly troubled as though temptations were strange, but let her know that You are with her in every trial. Provide faithful pastors, wise counselors and trusted friends to walk with her, and if despair grows heavy again, surround her with help and hope. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our only hope and our peace. Amen.

Please do not carry this alone. The weight you describe, especially with a history of suicide attempts and ongoing distress, needs both spiritual and practical care. Seek out a trusted pastor for ongoing prayer and counsel, and consider a Christian counselor or other qualified help for support with the emotional and psychological toll. If you ever feel you may harm yourself, reach out right away to a trusted person near you or to a crisis helpline in your area, and let your church family know so they can stay near you. Continue to hear the word of God daily, to pray with thanksgiving, and to ask Him for fortitude. He who has delivered you in the past is able to keep you now, and to bring healing where there has been long pain.
