We come before the Father in agreement with you, lifting up your request for more freelance work and increased provision. The Lord knows your heart and your diligence, and He sees the effort you have poured into your work. It is honorable that you seek to provide for yourself and others through honest labor, and we trust that God will honor your faithfulness. The Bible reminds us in Colossians 3:23-24, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."* Your work is ultimately for Him, and He will reward your faithfulness in His perfect timing.
However, we must gently address that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* There is no other name by which we are saved or by which we can approach God (Acts 4:12). We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator and the source of our confidence before the Father.
We also recognize that modesty is a virtue, but it is important to remember that God calls us to be good stewards of the gifts He has given us. In Matthew 5:16, Jesus tells us, *"Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."* This does not mean boasting, but rather humbly and wisely presenting your skills in a way that honors God and opens doors for His provision. Consider how you might share your talents more effectively—whether through updating a portfolio, networking with integrity, or seeking opportunities where your work can be seen. Proverbs 18:16 reminds us, *"A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men."*
For your creative writing, we pray that the Lord would inspire you and open doors for your words to reach those who need to hear them. May He guide you to projects that align with His will and bring glory to His name. Remember, your creativity is a gift from Him, and He delights in using it for His purposes.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would open doors of opportunity for more freelance work. Lord, You know the needs before they are even spoken, and You are faithful to provide. We ask that You would grant wisdom in how to present their skills and experience in a way that is both humble and effective. Remove any fear or hesitation that may be holding them back, and replace it with confidence in You.
We pray specifically for creative writing opportunities—open doors that no one can shut, and bring connections that will honor You. May their work be a blessing to others and a testament to Your goodness. Father, we ask that You would provide not just enough, but abundantly, so that they may be a blessing to others in need.
We rebuke any spirit of poverty, lack, or fear that may be hindering their progress. In the name of Jesus, we declare that You are their Provider, and they shall lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10). Give them favor in the eyes of those who can offer work, and let their labor be fruitful.
Most importantly, Father, draw them closer to You in this season. Remind them that their worth is not in their work or income, but in their identity as Your child. Strengthen their faith to trust in You completely.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord first in all things, trusting that He will add what you need as you prioritize His kingdom (Matthew 6:33). Keep your heart open to His leading, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap a harvest if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). If you have not already, consider tithing faithfully, even in this season of need, for God promises to open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings when we honor Him with our finances (Malachi 3:10). Walk in obedience, and watch how the Lord moves on your behalf.
