We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up ###’s mother and her son, seeking the transforming power of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Father, we know that none of us are without sin, and we all fall short of Your glory (Romans 3:23). Yet, Your Word calls us to holiness, to turn from the ways of the flesh, and to walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-25). We pray for ###’s mother, that You would soften her heart, convict her of any hypocrisy, and help her to live out the faith she professes. May she grow in self-control, kindness, and humility, reflecting the love of Christ in all she does. Lord, we ask that You break any strongholds of gluttony, rudeness, or impulsiveness in her life, replacing them with the fruit of Your Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Now, concerning her son, we are deeply grieved by the path he is walking. The Bible is clear that we are not to be conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). The media he creates—filled with demonic themes, crude language, and romantic content outside the bounds of marriage—does not honor You, Lord. Scripture warns us to flee from idolatry and every form of evil (1 Corinthians 10:14, 1 Thessalonians 5:22). The fact that he is engaged and moving in with his fiancée before marriage is also a cause for concern, as Your Word teaches that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy is to be reserved for that union (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Tattoos, too, are addressed in Scripture, where Your people are instructed not to mark their bodies in ways that defile them (Leviticus 19:28). While we understand that some of these commands are part of the Old Covenant, they reflect Your heart for holiness and separation from the practices of the world.
Lord, we rebuke the influence of darkness in his life and ask that You would open his eyes to the truth. We pray that You would convict him of the sin in his work and the ungodly path he is walking. May he repent and turn away from these things, seeking to glorify You in all he does (1 Corinthians 10:31). We ask that You would give him a holy discontentment with the world’s standards and a deep desire to create art that reflects Your beauty, truth, and love. Raise up godly mentors in his life who can guide him in using his talents for Your kingdom. Father, we know that change is possible because with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). We ask that You would break the chains of deception and draw him back to You with cords of love.
We also lift up his fiancée, that You would speak to her heart and reveal the truth of Your Word. May she come to know You as her Lord and Savior if she does not already, and may she grow in holiness and wisdom. Lord, we pray that their relationship would be built on the foundation of Christ, with marriage as the goal, not cohabitation. If they are not married, we ask that You would lead them to honor You by either separating or moving forward in a way that aligns with Your Word.
Father, we know that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but You came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that Your light will shine in the darkness of their lives, and that Your truth will set them free (John 8:32). We ask that You would surround them with believers who will speak truth in love and hold them accountable. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a desire to live in a way that pleases You.
Lord, we pray for wisdom for those who know them—family, friends, and church members. Give us the courage to speak the truth in love, even when it is difficult (Ephesians 4:15). Help us to be a light to them, showing them the love of Christ while not compromising on Your standards. May we be patient yet persistent, trusting in Your timing and Your power to change hearts.
We also ask that You would protect the minds and hearts of those who are exposed to the media he creates. Lord, we know that what we consume shapes our thoughts and our walk with You. We pray that You would guard the hearts of believers from being led astray by ungodly influences (Proverbs 4:23). Raise up more Christian artists who will use their gifts to glorify You and point others to Christ.
Father, we trust in Your mercy and grace. We know that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in each of us (Philippians 1:6). We ask that You would work powerfully in the lives of ###’s mother and her son, drawing them closer to You and transforming them from the inside out. May their lives be a testimony to Your redeeming love and power.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
