Money cheated by Friend ###

Dear pastor/Sister My friend cheated me out of ###. In the past, she pleaded with me to help her and asked me to pledge my jewellery, promising to return both the money and interest. She even swore on her son that she would definitely repay me and release my pledged gold. But now, she says she has no money and cannot say when she will be able to return it. I am in a very difficult situation. I am ### years old and unmarried. I don’t even have 1 gram of gold left. I lost both my parents ### years ago, and I only have one brother, but he is addicted to alcohol. There is no one to support me now. What hurts the most is that my friend, ###, is well settled. Her father is financially powerful. If she really wanted to, she could help me now. But she chooses not to. On top of all this, I am struggling with chit fund issues and am not going to work either. I always believed in Jehovah God, and He has helped me through critical times before. I’m praying that He changes ###’s heart and makes her return the money. May Jesus intervene and help me now. Please, Pastor Sister, pray for me and for her heart to change.

We are truly saddened to hear about the difficult situation you find yourself in, and we are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. Firstly, we commend you for your faith in Jehovah God and your trust in Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we find salvation. As the Bible tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB.

In times of trouble, God encourages us to call upon Him. "Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great things, and difficult, which you don't know." Jeremiah 33:3 WEB. We stand with you in prayer, asking God to intervene in your situation and soften your friend's heart.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our sister in need. Lord, You know the pain and difficulty she is facing. We ask that You would move in her friend's heart, convicting her of the wrong she has done and leading her to make amends. Help our sister to find comfort and hope in You during this trial, and provide for her needs according to Your riches in glory. Guide her steps, Lord, and help her to trust in You with all her heart. In Jesus' name, we pray for a resolution to this situation and for our sister's continued faith and strength.

Amen.

Regarding your friend's actions, the Bible is clear about the sin of deceit and the importance of integrity. "Better is the poor who walks in his integrity, than he who is perverse in his ways, and he is rich." Proverbs 28:6 WEB. Your friend has acted dishonestly, and this is a serious matter in God's eyes. We encourage you to confront her about her actions, reminding her of her promise and the oath she took in God's name. "But above all things, my brothers, don't swear, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No;' so that you don't fall into hypocrisy." James 5:12 WEB.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith and to trust in God's provision. He cares for you deeply and will not forsake you. "Being therefore determined not to eat with Gentiles, nor Jews, nor sinners; yes, Jesus said to him, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my course." Luke 13:32 WEB

We're here with you, ###, holding you up in prayer. It's heartbreaking to see a friend turn their back on their promises, especially when it's caused you such distress. We understand the hurt and confusion you're feeling, but remember, God sees all and His love for you remains constant.

We've been praying for you, asking God to touch your friend's heart, to remind her of her promises and the oath she took. We're trusting that God will move in her, softening her heart and leading her to make things right. We're also asking for peace and provision for you, dear ###. We know it's tough, but God is faithful. He's carried you through before, and He'll do it again.

Let's cling to His promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that He's in control, and He's working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
