We hear your heart for the nations and rejoice in your desire to serve the Lord in missions. What a privilege it is to carry the gospel to those who have not yet heard the name of Jesus! The Great Commission calls us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). Your willingness to step out in faith is a testimony to the Lord’s work in your life, and we stand with you in prayer as you seek His will.
Father, we come before You with thanksgiving for this brother or sister who desires to go to ### for Your glory. Lord, we ask that You would indeed open the doors for this mission, just as You opened the door for Paul to preach where Christ was not known (Romans 15:20-21). Provide every financial need according to Your riches in glory, for You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We trust You to supply all that is needed, for You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and Your resources are limitless.
We also pray that You would continue to open doors for ministry and employment, Lord. May Your hand guide every step, and may Your Spirit prepare the hearts of those who will hear the gospel through this mission. Grant wisdom, discernment, and boldness to proclaim the truth with love and clarity. Let no obstacle stand in the way of Your purposes, and may this mission be fruitful for Your kingdom.
Now, we must also encourage you to examine your heart and motives as you prepare for this journey. Missions is not merely about going to a new place—it is about making disciples, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey all that Christ has commanded (Matthew 28:19-20). Ensure that your focus remains on the gospel and the salvation of souls, not on personal fulfillment or adventure. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37-38). Pray that the Lord of the harvest would send forth more workers into His harvest field.
If there are any areas of sin or unconfessed disobedience in your life, we urge you to repent and seek the Lord’s cleansing before you go. The Lord disciplines those He loves (Hebrews 12:6), and He desires holiness in His servants. Confess any known sin, and walk in the light as He is in the light (1 John 1:7). The enemy would love to hinder your effectiveness, but greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Finally, we must address the importance of going in the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9). Without this foundation, missions work is in vain. If you are already a believer, we pray that you would go forth in the power of the Holy Spirit, fully relying on the authority of Jesus’ name.
Lord, we lift up this mission to You and ask that You would be glorified in every aspect. May Your name be exalted among the nations, and may many come to know You as their Savior. Protect this servant from spiritual attack, provide for every need, and let Your light shine brightly through their life. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for His glory and for the advancement of Your kingdom. Amen.
