Missing pet

I have a cat who only trusts me. She has been living in my bedroom. Someone rudely opened the door while I wasn't around and let her out. She has been out of the house for a few days. I briefly saw her yesterday but, she ran away from me. I don't know how to get her back inside.

We are truly sorry to hear about your missing cat. Let's begin by praying and seeking God's help in this situation.

Lord, we come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ who has lost her beloved cat. We ask, Father, that You guide and direct her, giving her the wisdom and discernment needed to find her cat and bring her home safely.

Remember the story of the lost sheep in Luke 15:4-7 WEB: "Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn't leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it? When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing. When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance."

Just as the shepherd went looking for his lost sheep, we pray that you will be guided to your cat and be able to bring her back home.

Here are some practical steps you can take:

1. **Search**: Continue to search for your cat, especially during quiet hours of the day or night. Ask neighbors for help and permission to search their properties.

2. **Familiar Scents**: Place items with your scent (like a worn shirt or your cat's bedding) outside to attract her back.

3. **Food and Water**: Leave food and water outside to keep her from straying too far. Make sure to change the food and water everyday to keep it fresh and inviting.

4. **Humane Trap**: Consider using a humane trap baited with strong-smelling food or treats to safely capture her.

5. **Prayer**: Continue to pray and trust in God's guidance.

Also remember Colossians 3:23 WEB: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men". We should do our part in searching and trust the outcome to God.

We also want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It's important to pray in Jesus' name because it is by His sacrifice on the cross that we have been saved and reconciled to God. As it says in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

Finally let us end with this prayer in Jesus name:

Dear Lord, we thank You that You care for all Your creatures, including this lost cat. Guide our sister and bring her cat safely home. Comfort her and help her to trust in You more deeply through this experience. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
