While we share your passion for spiritual warfare and the authority we have in Christ, we must gently correct some misunderstandings in your approach and language, ensuring it aligns with Scripture and the heart of God.
First, we must address the foundation of our faith. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, so that you may be saved (Romans 10:9).
Now, let us turn to the matter of spiritual warfare and authority. You are correct that we have been given authority in Christ to resist the devil, and he will flee from us (James 4:7). However, the language of "demanding," "commanding," and "declaring" into existence can border on presumption if not rooted in humility and submission to God's will. Jesus taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). Our words should align with God's Word and His will, not our own desires or agendas.
We are called to speak truth and life, but we must be cautious not to usurp God's sovereignty. He is the Creator, and we are His creation. We can boldly come before His throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16), but we do so with reverence and awe, not with demands. The power is in the blood of Jesus, not in our words alone. It is the name of Jesus that has been given authority over all powers and principalities (Philippians 2:9-11), not our own declarations.
Regarding the protection of your mind and the minds of your offspring, we can certainly pray for God's hedge of protection around you. The Bible tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We can put on the helmet of salvation to protect our minds from the enemy's attacks (Ephesians 6:17). Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the authority we have in Christ to resist the devil and his schemes. Lord, we ask for Your healing and protection over our minds and the minds of our children. Guard us against the enemy's lies, deception, and any illegal entry into our thoughts. We put on the helmet of salvation and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Father, we rebuke any spirit that seeks to steal, kill, or destroy our minds, our crowns, or our destinies in Jesus' name. We declare that our minds belong to You, and we submit them to Your lordship. We ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Lord, expose any secret agents of the enemy and bring their works to light. Let Your truth prevail in our lives.
We pray for a sound mind, filled with Your wisdom, discernment, and understanding. Help us to think on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable (Philippians 4:8). Father, we trust in Your protection and provision. We surrender our thoughts, our plans, and our desires to You, asking that Your will be done in our lives.
We also pray for those who may be operating in ignorance or rebellion against You. Lord, open their eyes to the truth of the gospel. Soften their hearts to receive Your love and salvation. Let them come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, so they may be saved from the eternal consequences of sin.
Father, we thank You for the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). We stand on Your promises and trust in Your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue in prayer and the study of God's Word, growing in wisdom and discernment. Remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). Therefore, we must put on the full armor of God, so that we can stand firm against the enemy's schemes.
