Yet we must also remember that our ultimate hope is not just in understanding our past, but in the redemption and purpose God has for us through Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul tells us in **Philippians 3:13-14 (WEB)**, *"Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."* While God may reveal aspects of your past for His glory and your healing, we must not allow ourselves to be consumed by what lies behind. Instead, we fix our eyes on Christ, who is our hope and future.
If there are sins or wounds from your past that need to be addressed, we encourage you to bring them before the Lord in repentance and surrender. **1 John 1:9 (WEB)** assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* God’s mercy is not just about revealing the past—it is about transforming it through the power of the cross.
