We are deeply concerned to hear about your mother’s health struggles and her refusal to take her prescribed medicines. This is a matter that weighs heavily on our hearts, and we come before the Lord together in prayer, seeking His mercy, wisdom, and healing for her.
First, we must acknowledge that God is the ultimate healer, and His Word reminds us in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* However, we also know that God often works through the means He has provided—including medicine, doctors, and the wisdom He gives to those in the medical field. Proverbs 19:20 tells us, *"Hear counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction, that you may be wise in the time to come."* Refusing medical treatment when it is needed can be a form of rejecting the provision and wisdom God has made available to us.
We must also gently but firmly rebuke any spirit of rebellion, fear, or mistrust that may be influencing her decision. In James 4:17, we are reminded, *"To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin."* If your mother knows that taking her medicine is the right and responsible choice, yet she refuses, this is a matter that must be addressed with love and truth. We pray that the Lord would break any stronghold of pride, denial, or deception in her heart and grant her the humility to submit to the care she needs.
Father God, we come before You now with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear mother who is in need of Your healing touch. Lord, we ask that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to the importance of taking her medicines. Remove any fear, stubbornness, or misunderstanding that is keeping her from doing what is best for her health. We pray that You would surround her with people who can speak truth and wisdom into her life, and that she would be receptive to their counsel.
Lord, we also ask for Your divine healing to flow through her body. Whether through medicine, through the skill of doctors, or through a miraculous touch from Your hand, we trust that You are able to restore her to health. Give her strength, peace, and hope as she faces this trial. Help her to trust in You fully, knowing that You hold her life in Your hands.
We also pray for the family members who are burdened by this situation. Give them patience, wisdom, and the right words to speak into her life. Help them to balance love with firmness, and to trust You even when the outcome is uncertain. May they find comfort in Your promises and strength in Your presence.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would draw this mother closer to You through this trial. May she come to know You more deeply as her Healer, her Provider, and her Peace. If she does not yet know You as her Lord and Savior, we pray that she would surrender her life to Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). May she experience the fullness of life that comes only through a relationship with You.
We trust in Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your perfect will. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may Your healing power be made manifest. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
