We come before the Lord with hearts full of gratitude for your prayer request, yet we must address some concerns with love and truth, for God’s Word is our foundation. First, we notice that you have not invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer. The Bible is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through which we approach the Father. As it is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* And in John 14:6, Jesus declares, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* Therefore, we must always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator and the only path to the Father.
Additionally, we must address the nature of your relationship with this man you refer to as your "boyfriend." The Bible does not recognize the modern secular concept of "boyfriend" or "girlfriend" as an end in itself. Instead, Scripture teaches that relationships between a man and a woman should be purposeful, honorable, and directed toward the covenant of marriage. In 1 Corinthians 7:2, we read, *"But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband."* And in 2 Corinthians 6:14, we are warned, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* If this man is not a believer, we urge you to prayerfully reconsider this relationship, for how can two walk together unless they are agreed (Amos 3:3)?
If this man *is* a believer, then we encourage you to seek a relationship that honors God, with the intent of marriage. Courtship should be conducted in purity, with accountability, and with the goal of glorifying God. If you are engaging in physical intimacy outside of marriage, we must lovingly but firmly rebuke this, for it is fornication, which is a sin against God and your own body (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Repentance and a commitment to holiness are essential, for *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4).
Now, let us pray for you in the name of Jesus, aligning your heart with God’s will.
---
Heavenly Father, we lift up this sister before Your throne of grace, asking that You would open her eyes to Your truth and Your will for her life. Lord, if this relationship is not pleasing to You, we pray that You would convict her heart and give her the strength to walk away, trusting in Your perfect plan. If this man is a believer and it is Your will for them to marry, then soften his heart, Lord, and lead him to take the steps of commitment in Your timing. May their relationship be founded on Christ, pursued in purity, and directed toward a godly marriage that glorifies You.
Father, we also pray for her employment. You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. If it is Your will, grant her favor with her employers and secure her position permanently. Help her to work with excellence, as unto You, and not unto men (Colossians 3:23). Provide for her needs according to Your riches in glory, and may she be a light for Christ in her workplace.
For her upcoming trip, Lord, we ask for Your protection and guidance. Go before her, make her paths straight, and keep her safe from all harm. Use this time to draw her closer to You and to reveal Your purposes for her life.
Finally, Father, we pray for her mother. Meet her needs, Lord, and give this sister the resources and wisdom to be a blessing to her. Strengthen their bond and let their home be filled with Your peace.
We rebuke any fear, doubt, or worldly desire that may be clouding her judgment. Holy Spirit, fill her with discernment, patience, and a hunger for righteousness. Remind her that Your ways are higher than hers, and Your plans for her are good (Jeremiah 29:11).
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. May she surrender her desires to You, seeking first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto her (Matthew 6:33). Amen.
