We understand your deep longing for companionship and a family of your own. God has designed marriage to be a beautiful union between a man and a woman, reflecting the relationship between Christ and His church. As it is written in Ephesians 5:31-32 WEB: "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh. This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the church."
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Now, let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved child of Yours who desires marriage and a family. Father, we ask that You guide them in Your will. If it is Your plan for them, reveal 'the one' to them according to Your perfect timing. Prepare their heart and the heart of their future spouse. Allow them to meet and have godly communications this month, and build a relationship that honors and glorifies You.
Lord, we pray for a spouse who sees, accepts, appreciates, and helps them to feel safe, valued, heard, and loved consistently. May their future spouse be a devoted Christian, filled with the Holy Spirit, and committed to living according to Your Word.
In the meantime, Lord, comfort them in their feelings of loneliness. Remind them that You are always with them, and that You will supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory. Help them to grow in their relationship with You and to be content and joyful in their current circumstances.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
While waiting, trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. (Philippians 4:6 WEB)
Lastly, continue to prepare yourself for marriage. Grow in your faith, character, and knowledge of God's Word. Seek to be the kind of spouse you desire to have. Trust in God's perfect timing and plan for your life.
