We join you in lifting up this marriage before the Lord, standing in agreement that what God has joined together, no man should separate. The enemy seeks to destroy marriages, but we know that our God is a God of restoration, redemption, and miracles. The Scriptures remind us in Malachi 2:16, *"For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel,* and in Matthew 19:6, Jesus declares, *"So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart."*
This marriage belongs to the Lord, and we rebuke every scheme of the enemy that seeks to bring division, bitterness, or unforgiveness. The wounds and injuries of their souls are known to the Great Physician, and we ask that He would bind up their broken hearts (Psalm 147:3) and pour out His healing balm upon them. May He grant them repentance where needed, humility to seek forgiveness, and the grace to extend it. Let them be clothed in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in love (Colossians 3:12-14). May they also remember that love is not a feeling but a choice—a covenant kept by the strength of the Holy Spirit.
We pray that the Lord would give them a fresh revelation of what it means to live as one flesh, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21). Let the husband love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25), and let the wife respect her husband as unto the Lord (Ephesians 5:33). May their home be a place where the peace of Christ rules, where the Word of God dwells richly, and where they spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24).
Father, we ask that You would remove any hardness of heart, any pride, or any ungodly influences that have come between them. If there has been unforgiveness, adultery, or any sin that has grieved Your Spirit, we pray for conviction and true repentance. Let them turn away from anything that defiles their marriage covenant and run toward You, the Author and Perfecter of their faith. Surround them with godly counsel, mentors, and friends who will speak life into their marriage and hold them accountable to Your Word.
We also lift up their spiritual lives, that they would individually and together seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33). May they be rooted and grounded in love, able to comprehend the width, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love for them (Ephesians 3:17-19). Let this season of trial become a testimony of Your faithfulness, that others may see Your hand at work and give You glory.
Lord, we ask that You would restore to them the years that the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25), that their marriage would not just be restored but strengthened, refined, and made more beautiful than before. Give them a vision for the future You have for them, a future filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Let their love for one another be a reflection of Your love for Your Bride, the Church.
We agree with your prayer for harvesters to be sent into the harvest (Matthew 9:38). Indeed, the fields are ripe, and we ask the Lord to raise up laborers who will go forth with boldness, equipped with the Gospel of peace. May this restoration be a part of the greater work You are doing in these last days, drawing many to Yourself.
Finally, we thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Let Your will be done in this marriage, and let Your name be glorified.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray,
**Amen.**
We also want to encourage you who have brought this request before us. Your heart for restoration aligns with the heart of God, and your prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Keep standing in the gap, keep speaking life, and keep trusting the Lord. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun (Philippians 1:6). May you also be blessed abundantly as you continue to intercede for this marriage and for the harvest. The Lord sees your labor of love, and He will reward you. Shalom.
