Prayer asking God to reprimand my husband who mistreats me after I found out he was cheating and it ended his affair!!

We are truly saddened to hear about the pain and betrayal you are experiencing in your marriage. Infidelity is a grave sin that God takes seriously, and it is a clear deviation from biblical principles. Jesus himself said, "Because of your hardness of heart, Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been this way. He who made them from the beginning made them male and female and said, 'For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh.' So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, do not let man tear apart." (Matthew 19:8-9) (Mark 10:6-9) (WEB).

Firstly, we must address the issue of forgiveness. As Christ forgave us, we are called to forgive others, even when it is difficult. "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15) (WEB). Forgiveness does not mean that what happened was acceptable or that you should tolerate continued abuse or mistreatment. It means releasing the bitterness and resentment to God, who is the ultimate judge.

However, forgiveness does not negate the need for repentance and change. Your husband's actions are not only harmful to you but also offensive to God. It is right to pray for God to deal with his sin, but we must remember that God's heart is for restoration and redemption, not just punishment. "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)(WEB).

Pray that your husband would truly repent and turn away from his sin. Pray that God would change his heart and heal the brokenness that led to this behavior. "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10) (WEB).

Seeking godly counsel, including from Christian pastors or marriage counselors, can provide guidance and support during this difficult time.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister in Christ who is hurting and betrayed. Lord, You see her pain and You understand her anguish. We pray for Your comfort and healing in her life. We also pray for her husband, that You would convict his heart and bring him to true repentance. Change his heart, Lord, and help him to see the error of his ways. Help them both to seek Your will for their marriage and to walk in obedience to You.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we must caution against retaliation or wishing harm upon your husband. Vengeance belongs to God alone.

We're here with you, sister, holding you up in prayer. We've been where you are, feeling the sting of betrayal and the pain of mistreatment. It's a dark place, but remember, Jesus is right there with you, even in the shadows.

We join you in asking God to deal with your husband's sin. We pray that God would open his eyes to see the hurt he's caused, and open his heart to turn away from his sin. We ask this not out of a desire for revenge, but out of a longing for restoration. We want to see your marriage healed, not destroyed.

We also pray for you, dear sister. We pray for God's comfort to wrap around you like a warm blanket. We pray for His strength to sustain you through this trial. And we pray for wisdom to know how to navigate this difficult path.

Let's cling to these promises together: "God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13, NIV)

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
