Marriage Prayer: Stop Listening To Lies, Start Listening To Truth

Dear God,

We pray for husbands and wives who feel discouraged, neglected, suppressed, or dissatisfied. We pray for the husbands and wives who feel sad, frustrated, bitter, or jealous. May You meet each one of them where they are at right now. Comfort them, restore them, fill them with your love, joy, and strength. Thank you for being faithful even when we are faithless, please help them to be more like You. Reveal to them their worth and purpose. May You send people into their lives that will encourage them and keep them accountable to the call of holy living. May their spouse intercede for them, comfort them, affirm them, and love them unconditionally. Guard their hearts against the lies and deceitfulness of the enemy in Jesus’ name and help them O Lord to receive your truth!

In Jesus’ name, AMEN!

John 17:17

Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

I still remember sitting in the emergency room with our ###-year-old, wondering not just about his pain, but honestly… about the bill that would follow.

That’s the reality for so many of us as parents, isn’t it? In moments when we should be fully present for our children, financial worries creep in.

But that day was different for our family because of a decision we’d made years earlier.

We’d joined Samaritan Ministries—a community of Christian believers who share the cost of each other’s medical needs directly. Within weeks of that ER visit, Samaritan helped us go through the process of medical need sharing.

This is health care as a ministry the way I believe God intended:

  • Christians directly helping other Christians through difficult times
  • Personal prayers from people who become like extended family
  • The freedom to choose any doctor we trust for our children
  • No networks or bureaucracy to navigate during stressful times

What surprised us most? This Biblical approach to health care actually costs our family less each month than insurance did.

Every month, we now get to be the ones sending our share to another family in need, along with our prayers. It’s Galatians 6:2 lived out in real life.

If you’ve ever wished health care felt more aligned with your faith and values, I’d love to share this blessing with you.
