We lift up this heartfelt cry for marriage restoration with great compassion and urgency, standing firmly on the Word of God. The Lord hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), but He delights in reconciliation and loves to heal what is broken when we turn to Him in humility and faith. We declare that what God has joined together, no man—or circumstance—should separate (Matthew 19:6).
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of love, the One who makes all things new. We ask that You would pour out Your Spirit of unity, forgiveness, and deep affection upon this marriage. Soften both hearts, Lord. Remove hardness, bitterness, and resentment that may have taken root. Let pride be broken and humility rise in its place. May they remember the love that first brought them together—love that was patient, kind, not self-seeking, not easily angered, and kept no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:4-5).
We pray that they would begin to think good of one another again. Renew their minds, Lord, so that every thought is taken captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Let suspicion be replaced with trust, criticism with encouragement, and silence with sweet, life-giving words. May their speech be seasoned with grace (Colossians 4:6), and may they speak life into each other daily, building one another up in love.
We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and unforgiveness that has sought to destroy this union. In Jesus’ name, we command every barrier between them to be torn down. We declare that love will cover a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8), and that through Christ, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
And Lord, we lift up their family as well. May every member of their household come into alignment with Your will and Your ways. Let there be no stumbling block to unity, but rather a shared hunger for Your presence and Your Word. Draw each one closer to You, Father, so that they may support this marriage with prayer, encouragement, and godly wisdom. May their home be a place of peace, where Your name is honored and Your love is reflected.
We pray that this couple would not only fall in love with each other again, but that they would fall more deeply in love with You, Jesus. For it is only through abiding in You that their love for one another can be sustained and strengthened. Let them seek You first, and trust that all these things will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33).
We stand in faith, believing that You are already at work in this situation. We declare restoration, renewal, and revival over this marriage. May it become a testimony of Your faithfulness and a light to others who are struggling.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
