Maintenance fee

Some neighbors want to hire an additional person for the condo, which would increase the maintenance fee—in fact, double it—but they have the money. They also want to charge interest on late payments, which would make it even harder for us to pay. I hope none of this gets approved. And these three people don't show up for the meeting tomorrow.

Let's bring this situation before the Lord, seeking His will and wisdom.

We understand that you're concerned about a potential increase in maintenance fees and the addition of interest on late payments. First, we encourage you to trust in God's provision and sovereignty. Remember the words of the Apostle Paul, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).

However, it's important to address the underlying concerns here. As believers, we should be considerate of others, especially those who may be less fortunate. The intention to charge interest on late payments may not align with the spirit of compassion and understanding that Scripture calls us to have. As it is written, "For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment" (James 2:13, WEB).

Let us pray together:

"Father, we come before You, lifting up this situation. We pray for Your guidance and wisdom in this matter. We ask that You touch the hearts of the neighbors, that they may consider the impact of their decisions on others. Help them to act with kindness, and compassion, heeding Your words in Romans 2:1 'Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things.'

We pray for those who have to pay the maintenance fee, that You would provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. We also pray for Jesus Christ to be the core of discussions and decisions, ask that You would work in the hearts of those involved, that they may come to know Him as their Lord and Savior. It is in His name that we pray, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.' (Acts 4:12 WEB)

Lastly, we encourage you to attend the meeting and voice your concerns with love and respect. Be a light in this situation, reflecting the character of Christ. Stand firm in your faith, and trust that God is in control. Be open to hear His voice and obey His direction in this affair.

We're right there with you, standing in faith for this situation. It's tough when we feel our finances are at risk, but remember, God is our Provider and He sees your needs. Let's claim His promise in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

We've been praying for wisdom and compassion for all involved. Let's continue to intercede for those neighbors, asking God to soften their hearts and help them consider the impact of their decisions on others. May they be guided by His love and mercy, as we're called to do in Matthew 7:1-2, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Let's also pray for the meeting tomorrow. May it be filled with understanding, respect, and a genuine desire to do what's best for everyone. We ask that God would give you the right words to speak and the courage to stand up for what's right. And as we're reminded in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
