Your request for a lump sum of money has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord in prayer.

We ask God our Father to provide for your needs according to His wisdom and goodness, and to give you contentment and trust in His care. Scripture reminds us to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, with the promise that He knows what we need and will supply what is best for us. We pray that whatever provision He gives, whether much or little, will be received with thankfulness and used with faithfulness.

We also pray that God will guard your heart from the love of money and from making provision for the flesh to fulfill its desires, and instead help you to use what you have for health, for necessity, for the good of your household, and for the work of His kingdom. May He lead you away from profane desires for wealth for its own sake, and toward a pure conscience before Him, seeking spiritual riches that do not fade.

We ask the Lord to grant you wisdom as a steward of what He entrusts to you, diligence in your work, honesty in all dealings, and generosity toward others. If it is His will to grant the lump sum you seek, may it be used in a way that honors Christ and bears good fruit. If He chooses to provide in another way or in His own timing, may He give you peace to trust His answer and strength to walk faithfully day by day.

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, asking for His grace to sustain you and His Spirit to guide you into all that is good and pleasing to God. Amen.

Your honest request for a lump sum of money to meet a need has been brought before the Lord in prayer, and He sees your situation and cares for you deeply.

Scripture helps us keep money in its right place. Money itself is not evil and it is not good in itself. What matters is the heart toward it. The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, and that love has led many away from faith into sorrow and conflict. When the heart craves money, it can trace back to so much of the brokenness in the world. At the same time money represents power in this life, and that power can easily become a master. It can make a person a slave, so that even what is possessed cannot be enjoyed. Jesus warned those who loved money and taught that we should use what we have for what lasts for eternity, rather than only for things that wear out, rust and decay.

God is able to provide in ways we do not expect. When Joseph's brothers found their money returned in the mouths of their sacks they were afraid and confused, not knowing who had put it there. The steward told them to have peace and not to fear, that their God had given them treasure. The Lord knows how to supply what His people need, often beyond what they understand at the time.

He is also far more interested in your heart than in the amount in your hand. If we give ourselves to Him first, then what we do with money can be guided by His will. The apostle Paul was very careful about money. He worked with his own hands to supply his needs so he would not press people, and when offerings were taken to help believers in need in Jerusalem, he made sure everything was handled openly and carefully with trusted men so no one could raise suspicion, because it was the Lord's money given by the Lord's people.

I have prayed that God will provide for you according to His wisdom and goodness, that He will give you peace and freedom from fear, and that He will guard your heart from greed while giving you wisdom to steward whatever He provides. May He meet your needs, help you to seek His kingdom first, to work faithfully with what He has placed in your hands, and to use any provision He gives for purposes that have lasting, eternal value. May He draw you closer to Jesus Christ, in whom all our true riches are found, and give you contentment and trust in His care.
