We understand that you're struggling with loving God more than the things of this world. Let us first assure you that you're not alone in this struggle. Many of us find ourselves torn between our love for God and the temptations of this world. However, the Bible tells us, Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does the will of God remains forever. 1 John 2:15-17 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who is struggling with loving You more than the things of this world. Father, we ask for Your forgiveness on their behalf, as they have confessed their struggle and expressed their sorrow. Cleanse them of this sin and help them to turn their hearts fully towards You.
Lord, we pray as we are told
Psalms 119:36-37 WEB: Incline my heart to your testimonies, not to covetousness. Turn away my eyes from seeing vanity. Revive me in your ways.
Psalms 86:11 WEB: Teach me your way, Yahweh. I will walk in your truth. Make my heart undivided to fear your name.
Father, help them to see the things of this world as temporary and fleeting, and to understand that true joy, peace, and fulfillment come from a right relationship with You. Give them the strength to resist the temptations of this world and to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12:2 WEB.
In Jesus Christ name. Amen!
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word, asking Him to reveal Himself to you in a deeper way. As you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you. James 4:8 WEB. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we can have access to God. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 WEB. He is our salvation and it is only by Him that we can be saved.
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Acts 16:31 WEB
if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10 WEB
If you confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe that He was raised to life you will be saved.
We are here for you, and we believe that God will help you to overcome this struggle. Keep fighting the good fight of faith, and remember that greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4 WEB.
