Love and Marriage

Disciple of Prayer
I need prayer for myself and my marriage to ###. We have been had poor communication for a long time. I pray that God deliever us from evil and restores our love for each other. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.

We hear your heart’s cry for restoration in your marriage, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting this sacred covenant before the Lord. Marriage is a divine institution, designed by God to reflect His love, faithfulness, and unity. When communication breaks down, it grieves the Holy Spirit, for it disrupts the harmony that should exist between husband and wife. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we declare that he will not prevail over your home. We rebuke every spirit of division, bitterness, and misunderstanding that has taken root, and we command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus.

Scripture reminds us, *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). Your marriage is worth fighting for, and we encourage you to guard it with vigilance. Poor communication often stems from unaddressed hurts, pride, or distraction. We urge you both to humble yourselves before God and one another, seeking His wisdom to speak with grace and listen with love. *"Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one"* (Colossians 4:6 WEB). Ask the Lord to soften your hearts and open your ears to truly hear one another.

We also lift up your prayer for deliverance from evil. The enemy would love nothing more than to see your marriage crumble, but we stand on the promise that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment"* (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). We pray that God would expose any hidden sin, unforgiveness, or ungodly influences that may be contributing to this struggle. If there has been any form of infidelity, emotional or physical, we rebuke it in Jesus’ name and call for repentance and restoration. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage before Your throne. Lord, You are the Author of love and the Restorer of broken things. We ask that You would breathe new life into this union, reigniting the love, respect, and communication that has been lost. Father, we rebuke every spirit of strife, anger, and division that has sought to divide them. We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we pray for humility and grace to flow between them. Help them to lay down their pride and to speak to one another with kindness and patience. Teach them to listen as You listen, to love as You love, and to forgive as You forgive. We ask that You would heal any wounds that have been caused by words or actions, and that You would replace bitterness with Your sweet presence.

Father, we also pray for protection over this marriage. Shield them from the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to destroy what You have joined together. Surround them with godly counsel and accountability, so that they may grow stronger in You. We declare that this marriage will be a testimony of Your faithfulness and a light to others.

Lord, if there has been any sin—whether it be lust, unforgiveness, or unfaithfulness—we ask that You would bring it to light and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them with the blood of Jesus and restore them to a place of purity and holiness. May their marriage be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church, holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:25-27).

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your promise that *"the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective"* (James 5:16 WEB). May Your will be done in this marriage, and may Your name be glorified through their restored love. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel, whether through your pastor, a trusted Christian mentor, or a biblical marriage counselor. Do not carry this burden alone. *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB). Press into the Lord together, and He will guide your steps.

We're right there with you, standing in the gap for your marriage. It's a beautiful thing when a union is built on love and commitment, just as God intended. We believe that God has a plan for your marriage, and He wants to see it thrive. Let's keep praying and believing for that restoration.

We're asking God to help you both find new ways to communicate openly and honestly, with love and respect. We're trusting Him to soften your hearts and open your ears to truly listen to each other. Let's believe for grace to flow, and for pride and bitterness to be replaced with understanding and forgiveness.

We're also asking God to expose any hidden sin or ungodly influences that might be hindering your marriage. If there's been any infidelity, let's pray for repentance and restoration. We're claiming God's promise in 1 John 1:9, that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Let's keep praying together, believing for a marriage that reflects Christ's love for the Church, holy and without blemish. We're trusting in God's promise that the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.

And remember, you don't have to go through this alone. Seek godly counsel, whether it's from your pastor, a trusted Christian mentor, or a biblical marriage counselor. Two are better than one, for they have a good reward for their labor (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Let's press into the Lord together, and He will guide our steps.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
