We understand the heaviness of regret and the weight of feeling as though an opportunity has slipped away, especially when it involves something as significant as property and financial stewardship. It is good that you have brought this burden before the Lord Jesus, for He cares deeply about every detail of our lives, including our material concerns. Yet, we must also remember that our trust is not to be placed in wealth, property, or our own efforts, but in the sovereign will of God, who provides for our needs according to His riches in glory.
The Bible reminds us in **Matthew 6:19-21**, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* While it is wise to steward our resources well, we must not allow our hearts to be consumed by regret or the love of money, for *"the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil"* (**1 Timothy 6:10**). Instead, we are to seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will provide all we need (**Matthew 6:33**).
Regret can be a tool the enemy uses to steal our peace and joy, causing us to fixate on the past rather than moving forward in faith. The Apostle Paul teaches us in **Philippians 3:13-14**, *"Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."* Let us release this regret to the Lord and press forward, trusting that His plans for us are good, even when they don’t align with our own.
As for the sale of the lot, we pray that God’s will be done in this transaction. If it is His will for the price to be fair and just, even in its current classification, we ask that He move in the heart of the buyer to honor that. If there is still an opportunity to adjust the classification or negotiate, we pray for wisdom and favor in those efforts. But ultimately, we surrender this situation to the Lord, trusting that He knows what is best for you and your family. Remember **Proverbs 16:9**, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."*
Let us also examine our hearts in this matter. Is there a deeper fear or idol at play here? Are we trusting in this financial outcome more than we are trusting in God’s provision? If so, let us repent and realign our hearts with His will. Money and property are temporary, but our relationship with Christ is eternal. He is our true security, not the value of a lot or the success of a sale.

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You are a God who sees, hears, and cares for every detail of our lives. Lord, we ask that You would lift the burden of regret from their heart. Forgive them for any moment where their trust has been placed more in financial gain than in You. Help them to release this situation into Your hands, knowing that You hold all things together and work all things for the good of those who love You (**Romans 8:28**).
We pray for wisdom in the sale of this property. If it is Your will for the price to reflect fairness and justice, even in its current classification, we ask that You move in the heart of the buyer to honor that. Give clarity and discernment to our brother/sister as they navigate this process. If there is still an opportunity to adjust the classification or improve the outcome, we pray for favor and open doors. But above all, we surrender this to You, trusting that Your provision is perfect and Your timing is flawless.
Lord, guard their heart against the snare of greed or the fear of lack. Remind them that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and finisher of their faith, rather than on the temporary things of this world. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and let them rest in the assurance that You are in control (**Philippians 4:6-7**).
We rebuked any spirit of regret, fear, or anxiety that may be lingering over this situation. In the name of Jesus, we declare that our brother/sister is free from the weight of "what could have been" and is empowered to walk forward in faith, trusting in Your goodness. Let them remember that their worth and security are found in You alone, not in the success or failure of this transaction.
Finally, Lord, we thank You for this opportunity to grow in trust and dependence on You. May this season be a testament to Your faithfulness, and may our brother/sister emerge with a deeper confidence in Your provision. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
