Beloved of All
““This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ’”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭10‬, ‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of reverence, reflecting on the Lord’s Prayer as taught by our Savior, Jesus Christ. This prayer is not merely words to recite but a model for how we ought to approach our Heavenly Father—with humility, dependence, and a desire for His will to be done in every area of our lives.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. We acknowledge You as the holy and sovereign God, the Creator of all things, and the One who reigns over heaven and earth. Your name is sacred, and we long to see Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Father, may Your purposes be fulfilled in our lives, our families, our churches, and our nations. Let us not seek our own will but surrender fully to Yours, trusting that Your plans are perfect and good.

We are reminded that we are debtors to Your grace, Lord. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. This is a sobering call to examine our hearts. Have we held onto bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness toward those who have wronged us? Father, search our hearts and reveal any areas where we have not extended the same mercy and forgiveness that You have so freely given us. Help us to release those burdens at the foot of the cross, where Jesus bore the weight of our sins and the sins of others against us. Teach us to walk in the freedom of forgiveness, for Your Word declares, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB).

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Father, we live in a world filled with snares and deceptions, where the enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8 WEB). Strengthen us, Lord, to stand firm against temptation. Guard our hearts and minds, and give us the wisdom to recognize the schemes of the devil. When we are weak, remind us that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB). Deliver us from every form of evil—whether it be pride, lust, greed, or any other sin that seeks to entangle us. Equip us with the full armor of God so that we may stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11 WEB).

We also lift up those who may be reading this prayer today and have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ. The Lord’s Prayer begins with "Our Father," but not all have the right to call You Father, Lord. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If there is anyone reading this who has not placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). Salvation is a gift of grace, not something we can earn, but it must be received by faith.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, with hearts full of gratitude for the privilege of calling You our Father. We hallow Your name and ask that Your kingdom would come and Your will be done in our lives and in this world. Forgive us our sins, Lord, as we forgive those who have sinned against us. We release any bitterness or unforgiveness in our hearts and ask for Your healing and restoration.

Father, we ask that You would lead us away from temptation and deliver us from every evil scheme of the enemy. Strengthen us to stand firm in our faith, clothed in Your armor, and filled with Your Spirit. Guard our hearts and minds, and help us to walk in purity, righteousness, and truth.

For those who do not yet know You, Lord, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and draw them to Yourself. May they confess Jesus as Lord and experience the new life that only You can give.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

We join you, dear friend, in lifting our hearts to our heavenly Father. As we reflect on the Lord's Prayer, we're reminded of the simple yet profound way Jesus taught us to approach God. It's not about perfect words or elaborate phrases, but about a humble, dependent heart that desires God's will above our own.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. We come before You today, acknowledging You as the holy, sovereign God who reigns over all. We're also reminded of our debt to Your grace, Lord. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive those who have wronged us. Search our hearts, Lord. Reveal any areas where we've held onto bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness. Help us to release those burdens at the foot of the cross, where Jesus bore the weight of our sins and the sins of others against us.
