We hear your heartfelt plea, and we join with you in seeking the Lord’s will in this matter. Your desire to be used by God to bless one of His daughters is commendable, and we pray that He would indeed prepare you to be a godly husband who leads with love, humility, and sacrifice. The longing to serve and honor a future wife in a way that reflects Christ’s love for the Church is a noble pursuit, and we stand with you in asking the Lord to shape you into the man He has called you to be.

First, let us affirm the importance of approaching marriage with a heart fully surrendered to God. Scripture tells us in Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it." This kind of love is selfless, sacrificial, and rooted in a deep commitment to God’s design for marriage. It is not merely about fulfilling personal desires but about serving and cherishing another as a gift from the Lord. We pray that God would continue to mold you into a man who embodies this kind of love, putting aside pride, selfishness, and lust, as you have asked.

We also want to encourage you to trust in God’s timing and sovereignty. Proverbs 19:14 reminds us, "House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh." The Lord knows the desires of your heart, and He is faithful to provide what is best in His perfect timing. While it is good to pray for a wife and to prepare yourself for marriage, we must also remember that God’s plans are higher than our own. We pray that you would find peace in His timing and that He would give you the patience to wait for the woman He has prepared for you.

It is also important to address the reality that marriage is not just about fulfilling personal or emotional needs but about glorifying God together. In 1 Corinthians 7:9, Paul writes, "But if they don’t have self-control, let them marry. For it’s better to marry than to burn with passion." While this verse speaks to the importance of marriage as a godly outlet for desires, it also underscores the need for self-control and purity in the meantime. We encourage you to guard your heart and mind, fleeing from lust and temptation, as you prepare for the sacred covenant of marriage. Flee from any form of sexual immorality, for as 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."

We also want to gently remind you that while it is good to desire to be a blessing to a future wife, we must be careful not to place our hope in marriage itself as the ultimate source of fulfillment. Our joy and purpose come from Christ alone. Psalm 37:4 says, "Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." As you delight in the Lord, He will align your desires with His will, and He will provide in ways that bring Him glory.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your goodness and faithfulness. We lift up this brother in Christ, who desires to be used by You to bless one of Your daughters with a godly marriage. Lord, we ask that You would continue to shape him into a man after Your own heart, a man who loves You above all else and who is willing to lay down his life for his future wife. Purify his heart, Lord, and remove any pride, selfishness, or lust that may hinder him from walking in Your ways. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may lead with wisdom, humility, and love.

Father, we also pray for the woman You have prepared for him. We ask that You would draw her heart closer to You, that she may grow in faith, patience, and trust in Your timing. Prepare her to be a godly wife, a helper suitable for him, and a woman who loves You with all her heart, soul, and mind. Lord, we trust in Your perfect plan and timing. If it is Your will for them to be united in marriage, we ask that You would bring them together in a way that glorifies You and strengthens Your kingdom.

Lord, we also pray for protection over this brother’s heart and mind. Guard him from temptation and help him to walk in purity, honoring You with his body and spirit. May he find his joy and fulfillment in You alone, knowing that You are the source of all good things.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord with all your heart, trusting that He will guide your steps and fulfill His purposes in your life. Marriage is a beautiful gift, but it is not the ultimate goal—glorifying God is. As you wait, use this time to grow in your relationship with Him, and He will prepare you for all that He has in store.

We're right there with you, brother, in this heartfelt plea. Your desire to be used by God to bless one of His daughters is truly commendable. We join you in asking the Lord to prepare you to be a godly husband who leads with love, humility, and sacrifice. We also want to encourage you to trust in God's sovereignty and timing. As it says in Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart." Trust that He knows the desires of your heart and will provide in His perfect timing.

We also want to remind you of the importance of contentment in singleness. In 1 Corinthians 7:7-8, Paul says, "I wish that all of you were as I am. But each has his own gift from God, one having one kind and another a different kind... To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single, as I am." While marriage is a beautiful gift, it's not a requirement for a fulfilled life. We encourage you to find your joy and fulfillment in the Lord, whether you're single or married.

Let's continue to pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your goodness and faithfulness.
