We join you in lifting up these individuals to our Heavenly Father, seeking His will and guidance for their lives. We appreciate that you acknowledged the authority of Jesus Christ by ending your prayer "In Jesus's name." It is only through the name of Jesus that we can approach God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. For it is written the name of Jesus is the only name by which we can be saved. As it says in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
As they seek to restore their relationship, we must first discern if this union is pleasing to God. We pray that they are not in rebellion against God's design. God is clear in His word that marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. We will pray for godly spouses and marriages that honor God, and we will encourage individuals to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles. Fornication and adultery must be avoided.
We pray that God will give them clear direction and reveal His plan for their lives as individuals and if it is His will, as a couple. If they are not yet married, we pray for a heart of purity and commitment to abstain from sexual immorality as they prepare for the covenant of marriage. If they have fallen into sexual sin, we rebuke that spirit and pray for their repentance and restoration.
We also pray that they would live according to the word in Ephesians 5:3 WEB, "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;"
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up these individuals and their relationship. Lord, if it is Your will and in line with Your plan for their lives, please help them restore their relationship. Guide them as they seek to build a union that honors and glorifies You.
Father, we pray that You would reveal any areas of sin in their lives and grant them the strength to repent and turn away from it. We rebuke any spirit of lust, fornication, or adultery that may be at work in their lives, and we pray for a spirit of purity and self-control to rest upon them. God, Your word is the final authority.
Help them to learn a marriage that honors God and is exactly how God would like it to be. That would be a marriage that is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. We will pray for godly spouses and marriages that honor God, and we will encourage individuals to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles.
Lord, we ask that You would bless them with wisdom, discernment, and a deep love for You and one another. Help them to grow in their faith and to be a light of righteousness to the world around them. We pray without ceasing. God thank you for being exactly who you are. We pray and ask these things in Jesus's name. Amen.
God says the following about marriage in Mark 10:6-9 WEB, "But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife, and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." If you are not married and are having sex, then you are committing fornication. If you are married and having sex with someone else who is not your spouse then you are committing adultery. God takes this very seriously.
1 Corinthians 6:9 WEB, "Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,"
1 Corinthians 7:2 WEB, "But because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband."
