We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent financial concern and the distress it has brought upon your family. First, we want to acknowledge that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2). It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority and power that we pray. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). So we approach God boldly, yet humbly, knowing that He hears the cries of His children.
Father God, we ask You to intervene in this situation with Your mighty hand. You are the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:17). We pray for the swift resolution of this refund matter. You know the hearts and minds of those working in the bank, Lord. We ask that You would move upon them to act with integrity, diligence, and speed. May the right people make the right decisions so that the money may be returned without further delay. We declare that You are the God who restores what was lost (Joel 2:25), and we trust in Your provision.
We lift up this father and brother, Lord. The stress and anxiety they are experiencing are heavy burdens, but You have promised to give us rest when we come to You (Matthew 11:28). We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Father, pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon this family. Comfort them with Your presence, reminding them that You are their refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment in how to handle this situation. Your Word tells us that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask You, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to us (James 1:5). Guide this family in their communications with the bank and in their decisions moving forward. Help them to trust in You rather than in their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Lord, we ask that You would also work in the heart of the brother who is adding stress to this situation. Soften his heart, Father, and help him to see the importance of unity and peace within the family. May he turn to You for his needs and trust in Your provision rather than placing undue pressure on others. We pray for reconciliation and understanding among them, that they may bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).
Above all, we pray that this trial would draw this family closer to You. May they seek Your face and Your kingdom above all else (Matthew 6:33), knowing that You will supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We declare that this situation is not beyond Your control, Lord. You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19). We trust in Your timing and Your perfect plan, even when we cannot see the outcome. May Your will be done in this matter, and may Your name be glorified through it all.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
