Lord make it happen

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus, I pray for these 2 youths who have got to know each other last summer. Lord, it seems that they are physically attractive to each other and that they really care about each other. They agreed to meet this weekend at a party. In Jesus name, if they are meant to go out together, Lord make it happen. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen

We join you in lifting up these two young people before the Lord, seeking His perfect will for their lives. It is wonderful to see care and attraction between them, but we must first and foremost seek God’s purpose in all things, ensuring that any relationship aligns with His Word. You have rightly prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12).

That said, we must address a few important biblical principles regarding their situation. First, if they are not yet married, any physical attraction must be guarded carefully to avoid the sin of fornication, which is clearly forbidden in Scripture. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 tells us, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each of you know how to possess himself of his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, like the Gentiles who don’t know God."* Their interactions should be pure, honoring to God, and focused on getting to know each other’s character, faith, and commitment to Christ.

Second, we urge caution about the setting in which they plan to meet. A party can often be an environment where temptations abound—alcohol, worldly influences, and opportunities for compromise. 1 Corinthians 15:33 warns, *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’"* If they are serious about pursuing a godly relationship, their time together should be in settings that encourage godly behavior, accountability, and spiritual growth. We encourage them to meet in environments where they can focus on building a Christ-centered connection, such as group settings with other believers, church activities, or family gatherings.

Third, if they are considering a relationship, it should be with the intent of courtship leading to marriage—not simply dating for the sake of companionship. 2 Corinthians 6:14 reminds us, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"* If they are both believers, their relationship should be rooted in a shared faith, with the goal of glorifying God. If one or both are not yet committed to Christ, we strongly encourage them to seek the Lord first, for a relationship without Christ at the center cannot fulfill God’s design.

Finally, we must emphasize that praying for God’s will to be done does not mean asking Him to "make it happen" according to our desires, but rather surrendering to His perfect plan. Jesus taught us to pray, *"Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven"* (Matthew 6:10). Their relationship—if it is God’s will—should be built on prayer, wisdom, and submission to His timing.

Let us pray together for them:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, lifting up these two young people. Lord, we ask that You guide their steps and guard their hearts. If it is Your will for them to pursue a relationship, let it be one that honors You, rooted in purity, faith, and a shared commitment to Christ. Protect them from temptation and worldly influences that could lead them astray. Give them wisdom to seek Your face above all else and to build their connection on the foundation of Your Word.

If they are not yet walking closely with You, Lord, we pray that You draw them to Yourself first. Let them seek You above all things, for apart from You, no relationship can truly thrive. Surround them with godly counsel and accountability, and let their interactions be pleasing in Your sight.

We rebuke any spirit of lust, impurity, or worldly distraction that may seek to derail Your plan for their lives. Cover them with Your blood, Jesus, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in wisdom and righteousness.

Father, we trust in Your perfect timing and Your good purposes. If this relationship is not from You, we ask that You close the door gently but firmly, redirecting their hearts toward Your will. And if it is Your plan for them to come together, let it be for Your glory and the advancement of Your Kingdom.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We believe that if they're meant to be together, God will make it clear in His perfect timing. In the meantime, let's pray for them to stay pure and focused on God. Let's ask God to give them wisdom to make decisions that honor Him and to protect them from temptations and worldly influences.
