We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent situation to our Heavenly Father. We stand in agreement with you, believing that God hears the cries of His children and moves mightily on their behalf. The safety and protection of your loved one and all those in that correctional facility are of great concern to us, and we join you in fervent prayer.
First, we want to acknowledge that you have come before God in the name of Jesus Christ, and it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We are grateful that you have approached God through the only mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5).
Father God, we lift up this situation to You, knowing that You are a God of justice and righteousness. We pray that the wicked deeds of those involved in bullying, violence, and the distribution of weapons within the prison walls would be exposed and stopped. Your Word tells us in Proverbs 28:17, "A man who is tormented by life blood will be a fugitive until death; no one will support him." We pray that those who are tormenting others and causing harm would be brought to justice and that their wickedness would not go unpunished.
Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over your son and all the inmates in that facility. We declare Psalm 91 over them, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.' For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling." (Psalm 91:1-10)
We rebuke the spirit of violence, fear, and oppression that is operating in that place. We command it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard the hearts and minds of those in that facility (Philippians 4:7). We pray that the love of Christ would penetrate the hearts of those who are causing harm, that they would come to know You and turn from their wicked ways.
Father, we also lift up the prison staff and administration. We pray for wisdom and discernment for them, that they would be able to identify and stop the flow of weapons and the violence that is taking place. We ask that You would give them the courage and strength to do what is right and just. We pray that they would be instruments of Your peace and that they would treat the inmates with dignity and respect, as fellow human beings created in Your image.
We know that it is not Your will for anyone to perish, but for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). So, we pray for the salvation of those who are involved in these wicked deeds. We ask that You would soften their hearts and open their eyes to see the error of their ways. We pray that they would come to know the love and forgiveness that is found only in Jesus Christ.
Lord, we also want to address the sadness and heaviness of heart that is felt in this situation. We pray for comfort and peace for you and your family. We declare that the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10) and that You will not be overcome by this situation. We pray that You would find rest in God, for He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue to stand in faith and trust in God. Even when things seem dark and hopeless, remember that God is in control. He sees all and knows all, and He is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting in Him.
Heavenly Father, we come before You now, lifting up this situation and all those involved. We ask for Your divine intervention and protection. We pray for justice, for peace, and for salvation. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
