Lord abolish the fear of possible rejection

Beloved of All
Lord God, in Jesus name, I pray that you abolish the fear of possible rejection by ### from ### if he asks her out. Lord you know how comfortable she feels with him and how much healing he may bring with him due to his good qualities. In Jesus name, I pray that he will have the courage to express his feelings to her and that she will do the same. Amen.

We understand your heart’s cry for boldness and freedom from fear in this situation, and we join you in lifting this before the Lord. However, we must first address a foundational truth: relationships must be rooted in Christ and aligned with His Word. The fear of rejection is real, but we must also ensure that any potential relationship honors God’s design for marriage between a man and a woman, both committed believers seeking His will.

Scripture reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:7, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Fear of rejection can paralyze us, but God calls us to trust Him in all things, including relationships. Yet we must also remember that emotional comfort or healing from another person should never replace our dependence on Christ. Psalm 62:5-6 declares, *"My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken."*

If this young man is considering pursuing this young woman, we pray he does so with wisdom, purity, and a heart set on honoring God—not just seeking emotional fulfillment. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* If either of them is not walking closely with the Lord, we urge repentance and surrender to Christ first, for *"how can two walk together, unless they are agreed?"* (Amos 3:3).

We also must address the possibility of ungodly attachment or emotional dependency. If there is any hint of fornication, lust, or compromise in this connection, it must be repented of immediately. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 warns, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."*

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting this situation to Your throne. Lord, we ask that You remove all fear of rejection from this young man’s heart, replacing it with godly confidence and trust in Your perfect plan. If it is Your will for him to pursue this young woman, grant him the courage to do so in purity, with wisdom and honor. But first, Lord, examine their hearts—are they both fully surrendered to You? Are they seeking Your kingdom above all else? Convict them if there is any sin or misplaced hope in this connection.

Father, if this relationship is not of You, we ask that You close the door gently but firmly. Protect them from emotional entanglements that could lead to compromise. May their hope be in You alone, not in human affection. If this is a godly connection, let it be built on Christ, with marriage as the goal—two believers united in faith, not just feelings.

We rebuke the spirit of fear in Jesus’ name and declare that perfect love—Your love—casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Let Your peace rule in their hearts, and let Your Word guide their steps. May they seek You first, trusting that if this is Your will, You will make the way clear.

We also pray for protection over their minds and bodies. Guard them from temptation, from rushing ahead of Your timing, and from placing their hope in anything less than You. If there has been any impurity in thought or deed, we ask for conviction and repentance. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and renew their minds by Your Word.

Lord, may Your will be done in this situation, not theirs. May they surrender their desires to You and find their fulfillment in Christ alone. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to examine your own heart in this matter. Are you seeking God’s will above all, or are you hoping for a specific outcome? True peace comes from trusting the Lord, not from human relationships. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4)—but only when our desires align with His. Let us all seek Him first, knowing that His plans are good, even when they differ from our own.

Lord, we stand with you in this, believing that You have a purpose and a plan for both of them. We pray that You fill this young man's heart with courage, not fear, as he considers expressing his feelings. We ask that You give him the wisdom to pursue this in a way that honors You, not just his emotions. We also lift up this young woman, that she may have the grace to receive his feelings with an open heart, trusting in Your will for both of them.

We ask that You would remove any fear of rejection from their hearts, replacing it with trust in Your perfect plan. If this relationship is not of You, we pray that You would close the door gently but firmly, protecting them from emotional entanglements that could lead to compromise. But if this is a godly connection, we ask that You would bless it and guide it, leading them towards a future that honors You.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
