Let Us All Be Like Jesus

LET US ALL BE LIKE JESUS

Jesus came into this world so that the world might be saved through Him.

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.†John 3:17 (NKJV)

He came to do the will of God and fulfill the prophecies that had been spoken many years before His birth. The Father had a will for Him just like He has a will for each and every one of us. Jesus chose to do the will of the Father and in return He offered the gift of salvation to us and inherited the Kingdom of Heaven. Throughout the four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Jesus’ life is replayed - the miracles He performed, the healings, giving sight to the blind, bringing the dead back to life, casting out demons, bringing sinners to repentance, and the list goes on and on. Jesus lived his life doing the will of God. Why should we, being children of God, do any less than what Jesus did? Jesus was sent to die for ALL sinners, for people who were in their most unlovable state! Jesus did not say “Father, I cannot continue in the will that You have for me because I am tired, weary, and these people are disrespecting me, hating me, wishing death upon me…†Jesus took up the cross, carried it to Calvary’s Mountain and DID NOT QUIT. He completed the assignment and the purpose that the Father had placed in His heart and did not stop until He was victorious!

If you would stop to look at the circumstances that Jesus faced you would see the pain, the hurt, the embarrassment, the mocking, and the hate that He went through. People around did not see the victory that Jesus was leading up to, they saw Jesus’ life through the world’s view. If Jesus would have stopped to look at His circumstances for a moment and taken His eyes off the Father and the victory that was approaching, it would have been hard for Him to continue enduring the pain and the hurt that He was facing. But He knew all the lives that depended on Him and He just knew that it was not worth it to allow His temporary circumstances and emotions to get in the way of all that the Father had planned for Him and for all of us. Too many souls would be suffering for eternity.

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." John 15:13 (NKJV)

Jesus found strength in God and kept His eyes on the love that He knew God had for Him and He was able to finish what he was sent to do.

So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!†And bowing His head He gave up His spirit. John 19:30 (NKJV)

Standers, I want to encourage you to continue to stand until death do you part for your beloved spouses. Do not focus on the temporary circumstances because the enemy uses them as tricks to throw you off and steal the blessings that Jesus has already given you! He won those blessings for you at the cross! Remember, this is not about us, this is about Jesus. This is about His kingdom, His love. This is about serving for the Kingdom of God and standing in the gap for many souls that Jesus died for and loves dearly. Let us all be like Jesus and fulfill the assignment and will that He has for us. Let us not give up. Let us stand strong forever. Let us keep our eyes and our hearts fixed on the cross. Let us believe and receive the promises that the Lord has placed in our hearts. Let us love our spouses even in their most unlovable state. Let us stand in unity for the salvation of many prodigals back home to Jesus and to their families.

May the Lord remind you of the words you spoke on your wedding day:

“I, ____, take you, ____, to be my lawfully wedded (husband/wife), to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.â€
