Let His presence fill the place and manifest His power

We join you in prayer for the upcoming Prayer for Nepal Comfort and Prayer Services on September 6th and 7th and we thank God for your desire to seek Him and to make His love known.

We pray that the Lord's living presence will fill the place where you gather and that He will be honored in all that is said and done. We ask that the Holy Spirit will work powerfully in every heart, bringing conviction where it is needed, comfort to those who mourn, and a deep assurance of the hope and peace that are found in Christ alone.

As the Scripture teaches, our desire for God is raised when we recognize our need of Him, and He delights to give His Spirit to those who seek Him with longing and faith. May everyone who comes experience the love of Christ, the comfort that comes from a pure conscience before God, and the lasting hope that rests on His reconciliation accomplished through the cross and resurrection.

We pray also for you who have organized and who will speak, that the Lord will use you as faithful mouthpieces for His glory, speaking with clarity, truth and grace, and that your lives will reflect the holiness and beauty that come from His presence and the wealth of good works He produces in His people.

May the Lord grant you joy in gathering, strength for every need, and fruit that remains for His kingdom. We commit these services to Him in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father.

Joining with you in prayer for these upcoming prayer and comfort services, I thank God for the hunger you have expressed that the living presence of the Lord would fill the gatherings and that His power would be clearly seen.

Scripture shows us that the Holy Spirit is the one the Father uses to draw people to Jesus, and when a person receives Christ, the Spirit comes to dwell within that person. Every believer has the Holy Spirit living inside. Yet there is also a distinct empowering where the Spirit comes upon a life to anoint and equip for service. Jesus Himself, though He was the Son of God, ministered full of the Holy Spirit and in the power of that anointing, and the promise given to His followers was that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them so that they could be His witnesses.

That distinction is important for what you are asking. The indwelling of the Spirit is what transforms us inwardly and conforms us to the image of Christ, giving us the ability to love, to forgive, to be kind and to walk in victory over the flesh in a way we could never do in our own strength. The coming upon is the overflowing of that same Spirit from our lives outward, so that our words and ministry are not merely our own efforts but are carried with divine power.

No effective ministry can be accomplished apart from that power. We need the Spirit both to stand against temptation and to speak with clarity and love to others. When the Spirit was poured out at Pentecost, He was given as a gift to the church, and that gift remains for all who are called to belong to Jesus. We do not need to strive in our own ability, but simply to be open to God to receive what He desires to impart and to be filled and anointed for the work He has set before us.

So I pray with you that the Lord will manifest His presence in these meetings, that the Holy Spirit will work deeply in every heart present, and that each person will truly encounter the love, comfort, hope and peace that come through Christ. I pray that you and all who serve will be anointed as His mouthpiece, speaking not in human wisdom but in the power of the Spirit, proclaiming the good news with grace and truth. May the Spirit guide and direct every part of the gatherings, draw those who do not yet know Jesus to Himself, and strengthen and encourage believers to live more like Christ.

May the Father fill you anew, empower you to serve, and cause His life to flow through you for His glory.

We have continued to lift up your request that the Lords living presence would fill the place and manifest His power and that the Holy Spirit would work powerfully in every heart. We have been praying that all who gathered would truly experience the love, comfort, hope and peace of Christ and that you would be used as His mouthpiece for His glory.

We take comfort in the promise of Psalm 46:1 that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, and we trust that He has heard our prayers for Nepal and for all who are hurting.
