We hear the longing in your heart, the dreams that stir within you, and the quiet fears that accompany them. It is true that the desires of our hearts are not there by accident—God knits them into us with purpose, as Psalm 37:4 reminds us: *"Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* Yet we must also remember that His timing and ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and what we hope for must align with His will, not our own.
The phrase *"let go and let God"* is often used, but we must be careful not to mistake passivity for trust. Trusting God means actively surrendering our plans to Him while still walking in obedience, as James 2:26 tells us, *"For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead."* Are you seeking Him first in all things, or are you holding onto something that may not be of Him? Have you examined whether these dreams are rooted in His Word, or are they shaped by worldly desires?
We also notice that this prayer does not mention the name of Jesus, and we must address this. It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so—confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of salvation (Romans 10:9). Without Christ, our prayers are not heard in the way they should be.
Now, let us pray together:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that You alone know the depths of this heart and the dreams You have placed within it. Lord, we ask that You refine these desires, burning away anything that does not align with Your perfect will. Give wisdom and patience, that we may wait on You without growing weary. If there is any area where we are clinging to our own plans rather than surrendering to Yours, reveal it to us, Lord. Strengthen our faith so that disappointment does not lead to doubt, but rather to deeper trust in Your faithfulness. We declare that Your promises are true, and we choose to hope in You alone. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."*
We encourage you to search the Scriptures daily, for they are the lamp to our feet and the light to our path (Psalm 119:105). If these dreams involve a future spouse, we pray that God would prepare you for a godly marriage, one that honors Him in every way. If they involve ministry, career, or other callings, we pray for clarity and obedience. But above all, we pray that Christ would be the center of all your hopes and dreams. Keep pressing into Him, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).
