Psalm 118:8-9 (WEB) tells us, "It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man. It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in princes." While we can use the legal system as a tool, our faith and hope are firmly rooted in God.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this situation. We pray that the legal paperwork will be completed accurately and submitted on time. We ask that You guide the hands of those involved in this process, giving them wisdom and discernment.
Lord, we also pray for the court, that they would continue to approve assistance for those suffering from abuse and trauma. We ask that You soften their hearts and give them a spirit of compassion and wisdom.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
