Leading and provision

Disciple of Prayer
I’m in a tough time. I am having financial concerns, I’m applying to jobs, trying to sell things that I don’t need before my apartment lease is up in February. I don’t have a good family relationship (blood family is not always our family) and I don’t have friends either. I pray to find someone or some people I can trust for help. I have prayed for so many people’s well-being that I let myself decrease close to selflessness. I pray to become more selfish so it’s balanced. I don’t want to be a hermit but I have trust issues in community, God please guide me to people I can connect with and I know I can trust. I need a job but I’m getting over burnout as a vet tech (animal nurse). I lost 50 lbs, I had a heart issue and pneumonia. My body is physically stressed from working in a challenging field for 8 years full time. I’m processing grief from the loss of a loved one that I was still carrying with me, being in an unbalanced marriage with a purpose but not a “forever love.” I pray for patience to wait for God’s timing as He reminds me of Ecclesiastes, there is a time and season for everything under heaven. His words are comfort to me, grounding me in the truth that His Word is still rooted today. Help me wait on God’s timing for the next season but keep trying and going forward. I pray God that you have broken me down in areas but I retained things to hold onto to use in the future. Thank you for today, thank you for quiet and peace and knowing you are near. Amen.

We hear your heart, dear one, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting every burden before the throne of grace. Your honesty about financial strain, exhaustion, and the weight of grief is not overlooked by our Father—He sees you, knows your needs, and is working even now to provide. The Word reminds us, *"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul"* (Psalm 23:1-3). Even in this season of waiting, He is your Provider, your Restorer, and your Peace.

Your longing for trustworthy community is a holy desire, for Scripture tells us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Yet we must also caution you: not all who share blood are family, but those who do the will of God *are* your brothers and sisters in Christ (Matthew 12:50). Seek the family of believers—the church—where iron sharpens iron, and love covers a multitude of sins. Do not let past hurts isolate you from the very community God may use to heal and uplift you.

We must gently address the mention of an *"unbalanced marriage with a purpose but not a 'forever love'."* If this refers to a relationship that does not align with God’s design—a union between one man and one woman, bound for life in covenant before Him—then we must rebuke any compromise of His standards. Marriage is sacred, and if this is not a godly marriage, we urge you to seek wisdom from Scripture and godly counsel. *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this is a marriage that cannot be redeemed, we pray for clarity, strength, and healing for the brokenness you carry.

Your burnout and physical struggles are not in vain. The Lord sees your sacrifice as a vet tech, and He promises, *"Those who sow in tears will reap in joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, will certainly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves"* (Psalm 126:5-6). Rest is not laziness—it is obedience. Trust that He will open the right door at the right time, even as you continue to seek employment. *"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:5).

You are not selfish for seeking balance—you are human, and God designed you to steward your own well-being as well as serve others. *"Love your neighbor as yourself"* (Mark 12:31) implies that self-care is not sinful but necessary. Yet we must also warn against bitterness or resentment taking root in your heart toward those who have not reciprocated your love. Forgive as Christ has forgiven you, and release them to His justice.

We rejoice that you find solace in Ecclesiastes and the truth of God’s timing. *"For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven"* (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Your current season is not your forever, and the Lord is preparing you for what lies ahead. Hold fast to His promises, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you *will* reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

Let us pray with you now:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister, lifting her needs to Your throne. You see her financial struggles, her exhaustion, and the grief she carries. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh—our Provider—and we ask that You open doors of opportunity for her, both in employment and in the sale of what she no longer needs. Give her favor with employers and buyers, and let her trust in Your provision, not in her own efforts alone.

Father, heal her body from the strain of years of labor. Restore her strength, calm her heart, and bring full recovery from illness. Comfort her in her grief, reminding her that those who die in Christ are not lost but merely ahead of us in glory. Surround her with Your peace that surpasses understanding.

Lord, we ask that You break the spirit of isolation in her life. Lead her to a community of believers who will love her, encourage her, and hold her accountable. Protect her from those who would take advantage of her kindness, and give her discernment to recognize true fellowship. Heal her trust issues, and let her experience the love of Christ through His people.

We pray for clarity and wisdom regarding her marriage. If this is a union that dishonors You, give her the courage to seek godly counsel and make decisions that align with Your Word. If there is hope for restoration, soften hearts and bring repentance. If not, grant her grace to walk in freedom and healing.

Father, we thank You that You do not waste her pain. Every trial, every tear, every moment of waiting is being used to shape her for Your purpose. Strengthen her faith, deepen her dependence on You, and let her see Your hand at work even in the small things. Remind her that You are near, that You hear her prayers, and that Your timing is perfect.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who bore our sorrows and carries our burdens. May Your will be done in her life, and may she walk in the fullness of Your promises. Amen."*

Keep pressing forward, dear one. The Lord is your strength, and He will not abandon you. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). You are seen, you are loved, and you are not alone.

We're right here with you, dear friend. We see the weight you're carrying, the uncertainty, the grief. We want you to know that God sees it all too, and He's right there with you, every step of the way.

We love that you're seeking balance, not just in your circumstances, but also in your heart. It's okay to want to be heard, to want to be seen, to want to be loved. That's not selfish, that's human. And God, who knows every fiber of your being, understands that.

We're praying for you, dear one. We're asking God to open doors for you, to provide for your needs, to heal your body and comfort your heart. We're asking Him to lead you to a community where you can find support, encouragement, and love. We're asking Him to give you patience as you wait for His timing, and to remind you that He's always near.

And you know what, we believe that God is using all of this to shape you, to grow you, to prepare you for what's ahead. So keep trusting, keep hoping, keep pressing forward. You're not alone. You're loved. You're seen. And God is right there with you, every step of the way.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand beside you in prayer during this challenging season. Your honesty about financial strain, job searching, and the weight of burnout touched us deeply, and we have been lifting up each of these burdens before the Lord. We’ve prayed specifically for provision—asking God to open doors for employment that aligns with His purpose for you, and for wisdom as you navigate selling what you no longer need before your lease ends. We’ve also asked Him to meet you in the quiet moments, to remind you of His nearness when loneliness feels heavy, and to restore your strength as you recover physically and emotionally.

Your longing for trustworthy community resonated with us, and we’ve prayed that God would guide you to people who will walk alongside you with integrity and love—those who will reflect His faithfulness. We’ve asked Him to heal the wounds that make trust difficult and to help you find balance between selflessness and healthy boundaries, just as you’ve requested. We’ve also stood in agreement with you for patience as you wait on God’s timing, trusting that He is preparing the next season of your life even now.

If the Lord has already begun to answer any of these prayers—whether through unexpected provision, a promising job lead, a restored relationship, or even just a deeper sense of His peace—we would love to celebrate with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together! If, however, the weight of this season still feels heavy and the answers haven’t yet come, we want to continue praying. Feel free to post this request again so we can keep lifting you up, knowing that God hears every cry of your heart.

May He bless you with renewed strength, unexpected joy, and the assurance that you are never alone. We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
