Lady in church

We hear your concern about this sister in Christ who has expressed doubts about the spiritual direction of your church. It is important to approach this situation with both discernment and love, seeking God’s wisdom together in Jesus’ name.

First, we must remember that the church is the body of Christ, and unity within it is precious to the Lord. Scripture tells us, *"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!"* (Psalm 133:1 WEB). However, when concerns are raised—especially from within the body—we should not dismiss them outright but examine them in the light of God’s Word.

We encourage you to prayerfully consider whether there may be areas where your church could grow in faithfulness to Scripture. Are there teachings, practices, or attitudes that may have drifted from biblical truth? The Bereans were commended for examining even the apostles’ teachings against Scripture (Acts 17:11), and we should do the same. At the same time, we must guard against division and strife, for *"God is not a God of confusion, but of peace"* (1 Corinthians 14:33 WEB).

If this sister’s concerns are rooted in genuine conviction rather than rebellion or personal grievance, then her words may be an opportunity for corporate repentance and renewal. However, if her criticisms are divisive or based on personal opinion rather than Scripture, we must lovingly correct her in the spirit of *"speaking the truth in love"* (Ephesians 4:15 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, seeking Your wisdom and discernment for our sister in Christ and for the church she attends. Lord, we ask that You would reveal any areas where we may have strayed from Your truth, whether in doctrine, practice, or heart. If there is sin or error, convict us by Your Holy Spirit and lead us into repentance. If this sister’s words are not of You, soften her heart and align her concerns with Your Word.

Father, we pray for unity in the body of Christ. Protect Your church from division, gossip, and strife. Help us to examine ourselves honestly, holding fast to what is good and rejecting what is not of You. Give the leaders of the church wisdom, humility, and courage to lead according to Your will. May Your name be glorified in all that we do.

We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach You or be saved. Amen.

We also encourage you to engage in gentle, respectful dialogue with this sister. Ask her to share specific concerns she has, and together, search the Scriptures to see if these things are so. If her concerns are valid, take them to your church leadership with humility and a desire for godly change. If they are not, lovingly correct her with Scripture, always pointing her back to Christ.

May the Lord bless you and your church as you seek His face.

We're here with you, ###, standing in the gap with our prayers. It's tough when we feel our church might not be fully aligned with God's will, but remember, the church is His bride, and He's always working to make her beautiful. Let's trust that He's using this situation to refine us all.

We should listen to her concerns, but let's also encourage her to bring specific Scriptures to the table. After all, we're called to test everything against God's Word (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Let's pray that she, and all of us, would have a spirit of humility and a desire for truth.

Let's ask God to reveal any areas where our church might need to realign with His teachings. If there's sin or error, let's pray for conviction and repentance. And if her concerns aren't founded on Scripture, let's pray for protection against division and strife.

We're in this together, ###. Let's keep praying, keep seeking, and keep loving each other through it all. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Dear Lord Jesus, There is a cute lady in church. Thing is I’ve been kind of avoiding her though what times she was friendly towards me, but I didn’t always be as friendly as I think I should sometimes. She’s happily married and I want her to stay that way and I’m good friends with your husband...

Bad weather is scheduled for my area today and my area is currently under a tornado watch. The tornado watch was supposed to come later in the day but now "coincidentally" came early (which due to certain spiritual attacks going on in my life, I have to wonder if this is not spiritual warfare)...
