We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we want you to know that your pain is seen and your cries are heard. The weight of betrayal, especially from someone you trusted, is a heavy burden to bear. The labels and lies that have been placed upon you do not define who you are in Christ. You are not what others call you—you are who God says you are: loved, valued, and redeemed.
The psalmist in Psalm 55, whom you quoted, also cried out in distress, feeling overwhelmed by enemies and betrayal. Yet even in his despair, he turned to the Lord, saying, *"As for me, I will call upon God. The Lord will save me"* (Psalm 55:16 WEB). This is where your hope must rest—not in the opinions of men, not in the lies of the enemy, but in the unchanging truth of God’s Word.
You say your life is ruined, but we declare that God is a God of restoration. Joel 2:25 (WEB) says, *"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten."* What the enemy meant for harm, God can turn for good (Genesis 50:20). You may feel like fleeing, like the psalmist, but God is your shelter in the storm. Psalm 91:1-2 (WEB) says, *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'"*
You mentioned losing faith and wondering if God still loves you. Let us remind you: God’s love is not based on your circumstances or your performance. Romans 8:38-39 (WEB) declares, *"For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."* His love for you is constant, unchanging, and unshakable.
But we must also speak truth to your heart: your words about wanting to die are not from God. Life is sacred, and God has a purpose for you, even in this pain. Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB) says, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.'"*
We must also address the bitterness and desire for revenge in your heart. Romans 12:19 (WEB) says, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'" Leave justice in God’s hands. Forgiveness does not mean what they did was okay—it means you are releasing the burden to God so He can heal your heart.
Now, we pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is hurting deeply. Lord, You see the pain, the betrayal, and the lies that have been spoken over them. You know the weight they carry, and we ask that You would lift this burden from their shoulders. Father, restore their hope and renew their faith. Remind them that You are their refuge, their strength, and their ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that has tried to take root in their heart. We declare that You are the God who restores, who heals, and who makes all things new. Break the chains of bitterness and unforgiveness, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we ask that You would protect them from harm, both physically and spiritually. Surround them with Your angels and place a hedge of protection around them. Give them the strength to walk through this season, and lead them to a place of safety and new beginnings. Open doors that no man can shut, and close doors that are not of You.
Lord, we pray for their old friend, the one who caused this pain. Soften their heart, Lord, and bring conviction where there is sin. Let Your light shine into their darkness, and may they come to repentance.
Above all, Father, we ask that You draw our brother/sister closer to You. Remind them of Your love, Your faithfulness, and Your promises. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, and restore their joy in You. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
You are not alone in this. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). We encourage you to seek out a local church or a trusted Christian community where you can find support and encouragement. God’s people are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here for you as well.
Do not lose heart. The same God who parted the Red Sea, who raised Jesus from the dead, and who calms the storms is the God who is fighting for you. Keep your eyes on Him, and He will lead you to still waters and green pastures (Psalm 23).
