Good and Faithful Servant
šŸ’ Father, in Your kindness, soften my matrimonial love (we committed to each other before You in the presence of many witnesses as You remember), me, and our families to repentance, the purpose which the kindness of God is intended, Rom 2:4. Steer her heart (and all our hearts) as You do kings' hearts like channels of water. Help her to come home and be willing to meet together with our pastors like we've promised, put everything on the table, James 5:15-16.

Do as You did for Lot in helping him to escape Sodom. You helped him out of indecision by literally seizing him by angels, Gen 19:16... Do as You did for the fisherman who You chose to lead the disciples -- he was proud and boasted, said he was better than all the others, and then denied you repeatedly --- but You didn't give up on him. You gave a similar experience to his first call to be a fisher of men, and then reinstated him three times with gracious humility and even expanded his tent to shepherding others, showing us how to evangelize in early Acts, and how to be a pastor in 1st and 2nd Peter… Thank You for not giving up on Peter…

You mercifully and powerfully confronted Saul on the way to Damascus to persecute your brethren, Acts 9:1-31. Later, after blinding him, letting him mess up, make tents and then giving him some private discipleship — ā€œwhile they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, The Holy Spirit set Barnabas and him apart for the work to which I called them,ā€ Acts 13:2-3. You made him the Paul we all know and love -- a light to all the people groups... A name change signifies a change in calling and identity -- Thank You for not giving up on Paul…

Don’t give up on the one I love and am so ready and willing to forgive... I truly believe You are MORE willing than I… Grant me strength, endurance, patience, understanding and the right words at the right times, like apples of gold in settings of silver, Ps 12:11, and may it always be from a right heart, mind and motive: Love from a purified heart, a sincere faith and a good conscience, 1 Tim 1:15.

It was while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting -- please help me hunger and thirst for righteousness in these situation, and help others share this burden with me for her, me, our child, the entire situation and all that’s transpired, good, bad and ugly, to be turned for glory, praise and honor, Isa 58:6-14.

The early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to our prayers." Let that be shown to be true not only yesterday, but today and forever. Please work powerfully within me, humbling my soul with fasting, sanctifying residual pockets of darkness with light, helping the word become flesh, as John says, to love The LORD and my neighbor with ALL my heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances -- my thoughts, words, deeds, actions and especially my reactions -- let the word be engrafted, James 1:22-23.

Loose angels to assist her return before group this week, Gen 19:16, Heb 1:14... Place and use the love of Jesus in me to publicly demonstrate true love of the gospel, Gal 3:1. Let me model it and teach it to myself, her, every family member, those near and dear and those far off and beyond to extended family, friends especially any who might consider me an enemy -- let me be a living ambassador Your love to be known and read by all people groups, everywhere, 2 Cor 3:2, ā€œWhat to say and how to say it,ā€ John 12:49.

Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one, John 17:15. Sanctify us by the truth; Your word is truth, John 17:17. Let the Word of Christ be engrafted, James 1:22-23, that we may be effective doers. Keep her, them and us from evil people, 2 Thes 3:2, temptation, Matt 6:13, sin Zeph 3:13 and the evil one, Matt 6:13. Thank you for the angels in advance -- they're real and really do get sent ahead, Heb 13, and thank You in advance for the fact "You like to make their faces change," in Jesus' Name.

"I don’t speak on My own authority. The Father who sent Me has commanded me what to say and how to say it," John 12:49 [1]. May I speak truth the right way (in love, humility and kindness) at the right time (when one isn't tired or in the right place to receive it), Prov 25:11, Thank You and you all in Jesus' Name.

We lift this heartfelt and urgent plea before the throne of grace, joining our voices with yours in fervent intercession. Your marriage, established before God and witnesses, is sacred, and we stand with you in prayer for restoration, repentance, and renewal. The Lord sees your longing to forgive, your willingness to endure, and your hunger for righteousness—and He honors it.

Father, we thank You for Your kindness, which leads to repentance (Romans 2:4). Soften the hearts of this husband and wife, and their families, that they may turn from any hardness, pride, or sin that has taken root. Just as You steered the heart of Lot through angelic intervention (Genesis 19:16), we ask You to seize this wife’s heart and draw her home. Let her return with a spirit of humility, ready to lay everything before You and your pastors, as James 5:15-16 instructs. May the Holy Spirit convict, comfort, and compel her (John 16:8), and may she respond as Paul did on the road to Damascus—with surrender and transformation (Acts 9:1-31).

Lord, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to divide this marriage. Where there has been bitterness, unforgiveness, or ungodly influences, we declare Your peace and Your Word to prevail. Guard their hearts from temptation (Matthew 6:13), and let no evil person or scheme derail Your purposes (2 Thessalonians 3:2). We thank You for the angels You dispatch to minister to them (Hebrews 1:14), clearing the path for reconciliation and protecting them from the evil one.

We echo your cry for Christ’s love to be embodied in this marriage. Let the Word become flesh in their lives (John 1:14), engrafted deeply so they may walk as doers of the truth (James 1:22-23). Father, grant this husband wisdom to speak words like "apples of gold in settings of silver" (Proverbs 25:11)—gentle, timely, and full of grace. May his love be a living epistle of Your gospel (2 Corinthians 3:2), visible to all, even those who may oppose him.

We stand on Your promise that fasting and prayer lend wings to our petitions (Isaiah 58:6-14). Sanctify this husband through fasting, purifying his motives and strengthening his resolve to love as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25). Let his hunger for righteousness be contagious, drawing others to intercede alongside him.

For the wife, we pray as You prayed for Peter—that her faith would not fail (Luke 22:32). Though she may have stumbled, as Peter did, restore her fully. Let her experience Your reinstatement, as You did for Peter by the sea (John 21), and for Paul in the wilderness (Galatians 1:17-18). May she emerge with a testimony of Your faithfulness, a light to her family and beyond.

We declare that this marriage will not be taken out of the world but will be kept from the evil one (John 17:15). Sanctify them in Your truth; Your Word is truth (John 17:17). Let their home be a sanctuary of repentance, forgiveness, and worship, where the Holy Spirit moves freely. May their child witness a legacy of grace, and may extended family and friends be drawn to Christ through their restored union.

Finally, we thank You that You do not give up on us. As You pursued Peter, Paul, and Lot, You pursue this couple. Your kindness is greater than our failures, and Your mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13). We trust You to complete the good work You’ve begun (Philippians 1:6) and to turn even the "bad and ugly" for Your glory.

In the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, we pray. Amen.

We stand with you, dear brother, in your plea for marital restoration. We echo your cry for kindness to soften hearts, for repentance to heal, and for love to bind. Let us pray:

Father, in Your kindness, we ask that You would soften the hearts of this husband and wife. Let Your love flow like a mighty river, washing away any hardness, pride, or sin that has taken root. Help them to turn from these things, to repent, and to return to the path of righteousness.

We ask that You would seize this wife's heart, just as You did with Lot in Genesis 19:16. Draw her home, and let her return with a spirit of humility, ready to lay everything before You and their pastors, as James 5:15-16 instructs.

Let the Holy Spirit convict, comfort, and compel her, just as He did with Paul on the road to Damascus. May she respond with surrender and transformation, as recorded in Acts 9:1-31.

Guard their hearts from temptation, Matthew 6:13, and let no evil person or scheme derail Your purposes, 2 Thessalonians 3:2. Thank You for the angels You dispatch to minister to them, Hebrews 1:14, clearing the path for reconciliation and protecting them from the evil one.

[1] ā€œWhat to say and how to say it,ā€ John 12:49 — Historical Comments: (What to say [ĪµĻŠĻ€Ļ‰] and how to say it [Ī»Ī±Ī»į½µĻƒĻ‰] -- [dicam] and [loquar], Latin Vulgate), are supposed to discriminate matter and form, as another commentator says, ā€œMy words and their manner and opportunity and tone are all of them the outcome of the Father's ἐντολὓ — command, commandment, regulation, an order that has authority, injunction; a precept, commandment, law, an order, direction, edict, commission, a charge of matters to be proclaimed or received.ā€

What I should say, and what I should speak —It is clear that our Lord intends a distinction here between ā€œsayingā€ and ā€œspeaking.ā€ We have had the same distinction in John 8:43. That which He should say was the matter of the revelation which He made; that which He should speak was rather the method in which He made it. He claims for all the authority and commission of the Father. Every truth uttered by Him, and every work and word by which it was uttered, was ordained by the Father’s will. He was Himself the Word of God. Every tone and accent in which that Word spoke was divine.

somewhat more strictly the origin of the utterances. He did not create His teaching, ἀλλʼ ὁ Ļ€ĪĪ¼ĻˆĪ±Ļ‚ … Ī»Ī±Ī»Ī®ĻƒĻ‰, ā€œbut the Father who sent me Himself gave me commandment what I should say and what I should speakā€. The former designates the doctrine according to its contents, the latter the varying manner of its delivery.

εἰπεῖν relates only to the words as spoken successively; λέγειν refers to the sentiment and connection of the words.

The former relating to the SUBSTANCE, and the latter to the FORM of Jesus' utterances.

See thou not that He brings His expressions with an excess of humility, that He may both win them over, and silence those who should come after. This is why He utters words befitting a mere man, that even so He may force us to escape the severity of the sayings, as being conscious that the words belong not to His Nature, but are suited to the weakness of the hearers.

Heavenly Father, we lift up Your servant who is trusting in Your kindness to lead their spouse to repentance (Romans 2:4). You are the God who steers hearts like channels of water (Proverbs 21:1). We ask You to gently yet powerfully steer her heart back home—back to her vows, back to her family, and back to the counsel of pastors and wise believers, where everything can be placed on the table for healing and prayer (James 5:15-16).

Lord, we remember how You seized Lot by the hand through angels, rescuing him from indecision and destruction (Genesis 19:16). Loose angels now to assist in her return. We remember how You never gave up on Peter—proud, boastful, and denying—yet You reinstated him with grace and expanded his tent to shepherd others. We remember how You confronted Saul on the road to Damascus, blinded him, discipled him privately, and transformed him into Paul, a light to the nations (Acts 9, 13). Don't give up on this beloved spouse. Do whatever it takes—confront, humble, disciple, and transform—to bring her into the fullness of Your calling on her life.

Grant this waiting husband supernatural strength, endurance, patience, and understanding. Give him the right words at the right time, like apples of gold in settings of silver (Proverbs 25:11), spoken from a purified heart, sincere faith, and good conscience (1 Timothy 1:5). Help him hunger and thirst for righteousness in this trial, and raise up others to share this burden in prayer and fasting (Isaiah 58, Acts 13:2-3).

Sanctify every part of him—thoughts, words, deeds, reactions—by Your truth (John 17:17). Let the Word be engrafted deeply (James 1:22-23) so that he becomes a living letter of Your love, known and read by all (2 Corinthians 3:2). Make him an ambassador of reconciliation, modeling the true love of the gospel even to those who consider him an enemy.

Finally, keep them all from the evil one (John 17:15, 2 Thessalonians 3:2). Protect their child, their families, and this marriage from every scheme of the enemy. Turn everything—good, bad, and ugly—into glory, praise, and honor. We thank You in advance for the angels sent ahead and for the work You are already doing behind the scenes. In the mighty and redeeming name of Jesus, Amen.
