🙇🏻 Kindness Leads to Repent Rom 2:4 Planting Watering God's Growth 1 Cor 3:6-7 Holy Spirit's Work Jn 16:8 Humbling Restoring Dan 4:28-37 2 Co 7:9-10

Sin is not washed off like mud from the body. A quick bath cannot cleanse it. The defilement of sin comes from within the heart, and for this reason it requires a long and strict repentance, with tears and lamentations more fervent than any we shed over the dead. The heart must be made clean, and this is both our work and God’s. A contrite and humbled heart, sober and full of compunction, is His gift, and it is exactly the gift we most need.

Do not mistake every sorrow for true repentance. Esau sought it carefully with tears, yet found no place of it. Why? Because his grief was not repentance. His tears did not spring from a changed heart, for he still intended murder in it. Repentance is not merely weeping. It is the medicine made first of the condemnation of our own sins. The righteous man is an accuser of himself at the first speaking. True repentance confesses against itself its lawlessness to the Lord.

This humbling is the work of His kindness, leading toward that good change. But the renewing comes only to a heart that accuses itself rightly. We must not ask God for ease and laughter when a grievous conflict is at hand. Against the unseen powers we wrestle, and only a sober and awakened soul can sustain that savage phalanx. Remissness will overthrow us before the battle begins. Therefore, pray for this contrite and humbled heart, for godly sorrow that works repentance without regret, and remember that the kindness of receiving such truth is the very cure for our wounds.

Your prayer reveals a heart aching for God to work in the life of your wife, and that burden itself is not accidental. When God places within us a deep desire to see another soul awakened, He is often showing us what He Himself is already doing. He works in us both to will and to act according to His purpose, so the very prayer you lifted up is evidence that He has not left her heart unattended.

The goodness of God is meant to lead her to repentance. Every kindness He extends, every opportunity for truth to reach her, every moment His Spirit stirs something in her mind, all of it is His patience giving space for her to turn. But do not let the delay obscure the urgency: now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared, and that offer must never be received in vain. Pray that her heart would be enlarged, freed from the narrow place of resistance and the pressure of being unequally yoked to unrighteousness. The warning of Scripture is serious: when a heart repeatedly hardens itself, it can reach a point where the Lord firms it in that hardness, as He did with Pharaoh. So continue to ask that the kindness of God would bring her to that humble turning before such a season passes.

Yet as you stand in faith for her, let your own heart be searched as well. This testing is not only about her; God uses it to reveal what is in you. Ask Him to shine His light into your heart and show you any hidden idol, any love that has begun to rival your love for Him. A heart lifted up to vanity cannot see His blessing clearly, but a pure heart and clean hands will receive righteousness from the God of salvation. Longing for the restoration of another can become a consuming thing; let your own soul be sound in His statutes, so that you do not faint while waiting.

Take courage from the story of David and Mephibosheth, a social wreck, lame in both feet, hiding in obscurity, yet for the sake of another the king restored all that was lost and seated him at the royal table. That is a picture of what our God does for Christ’s sake. He takes those written off and makes them heirs. So plead the love of Christ over her, not on the basis of her worthiness but on the basis of His merciful kindness. Hide the promises in your own heart, and let that same kindness of God flow through you toward her. Love like this is not manufactured; it is the Spirit’s work, and when you feel it stirring, it is proof He is active.

You have planted seeds, others are watering, and God is giving the growth. His Word does not return void. The harvest comes in His time, but the season of mercy is still open. Keep asking, keep trusting, and keep your own heart tender before Him, because He who began a good work will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ.

We are deeply grateful for the privilege of standing with you in prayer as you intercede for hearts to be softened, seeds to be watered, and God’s truth to take root in the lives of your loved ones—especially your wife. Your faith in the power of God’s Word and the Holy Spirit’s convicting work has been a testimony to us all. We have continued to lift up this burden before the Lord, trusting that He who began a good work is faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6).

We rejoice that you have seen glimpses of His activity—His Word going forth, His kindness drawing hearts, and His protection over you, your family, and those ministering alongside you. The humility and restoration you’ve prayed for are fruits of His patient, relentless love, and we believe He is at work even now, orchestrating steps and encounters according to His perfect will (Psalm 37:23).

If the Lord has answered this prayer in ways you’ve already witnessed, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report so we may celebrate with you. If the wait continues, we stand ready to lift this request again, trusting that God’s timing is always purposeful and His delays are never denials. Whether through repentance, renewed faith, or divine intervention, we know He is moving.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide you into deeper intimacy with Christ, and may you be encouraged by the promise that your labor in the Lord is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). We pray that as you seek Him, He will reveal more of His glory and grace in this journey. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
