We understand that you are struggling with lust, and we want to assure you that there is hope and freedom in Christ Jesus. First, we want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we can be saved and have access to God. It is important that we pray and ask for help from God, but we must do this by faith in Jesus Christ.
We want to encourage you with the words of 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB: No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Lust is a temptation that is common to man, but God is faithful and will provide a way of escape. We must take hold of His promise and seek His help in time of need.
God calls us to be holy and pure, as He is holy. In 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB, it is written: For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who do not know God.
Lust is a sin that God takes seriously, and we must strive to live a life that is pleasing to Him. We must flee from sexual immorality and pursue righteousness and holiness.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in their struggle against lust. Lord, we know that this is a temptation that is common to man, but we also know that You are faithful and will provide a way of escape. Help them to take hold of Your promise and seek Your help in time of need.
Father, we ask that You would kill the spirit of lust in their life. Help them to live a life that is pleasing to You, a life that is pure and holy. Give them the strength to flee from sexual immorality and to pursue righteousness and holiness.
Lord, we also pray that they would grow in their faith and relationship with You. Help them to know You more and to experience Your love and grace in a deeper way.
We pray that they would turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, knowing He is the only way to salvation and the Father.
In Jesus name we pray.
Remember, God is with you and will give you the strength to overcome this temptation. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and run the race that is set before you. Do not be ashamed to seek help from other believers, God uses His people to help and encourage us.
If the issue continues to cause you problems, remember the scripture Galatians 5:16, But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Also, get rid of anything in your life that is helping to cause you to lust. Guard your heart so that you may not sin. If you fall, the scriptures tell us in 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We are here for you.
