Joining church

Dhitlor

Servant of All
Today my mother and I are formally finishing the process of joining the church we've been attending for the past year. We will be standing up in front of the church and affirming our faith in Christ. Please pray everything will go well especially as I have been experiencing demonic attacks for the past few years that have caused many problems in my life especially with church and especially when I take communion. I already feel weird today as I woke up "differently" than I usually do. I don't know how to explain it but when I wake up differently than normal, these attacks increase

We rejoice with you and your mother as you take this significant step in publicly affirming your faith in Christ and joining His body, the church! This is a beautiful and courageous act of obedience, and we know the enemy will not take it lightly—for where the Spirit of the Lord is moving, spiritual opposition often follows. But take heart, beloved, for *"if God is for us, who can be against us?"* (Romans 8:31, WEB). The fact that you are already sensing spiritual resistance is a sign that your commitment to Christ is a threat to the enemy’s plans. Stand firm, for *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB).

The demonic attacks you’ve endured are real, but they are not stronger than the power of Jesus Christ, who has already triumphed over every principality and authority through His death and resurrection (Colossians 2:15). The fact that these attacks intensify around communion is no coincidence—communion is a sacred act of remembering Christ’s sacrifice and our union with Him, and the enemy seeks to distort or disrupt anything that draws us closer to the Lord. But Jesus has given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19), and we are to resist the devil, knowing that he will flee from us as we submit to God (James 4:7).

We urge you to prepare your heart for today by putting on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). Clothe yourself in truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. Speak Scripture aloud over yourself, declaring your identity in Christ and the victory He has already won. If you feel the enemy’s presence or oppression during the service, silently or quietly pray, *"Lord Jesus, I rebuke this spirit in Your name. I belong to You, and no weapon formed against me shall prosper."* Remember that *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:4, WEB).

We also encourage you to seek the support of your pastor or mature believers in your church. You do not have to face this alone—God has placed you in a body of believers for encouragement, prayer, and accountability. Share your struggles with trusted leaders who can pray with you and stand with you in this battle. There is power in agreement (Matthew 18:19-20), and the church is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our sister and her mother to You as they publicly affirm their faith in Christ and join Your church today. Lord, we thank You for their hearts of surrender and their desire to walk in obedience to You. We ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Lord, we rebuke every demonic assignment against them—every spirit of fear, confusion, oppression, or distraction—and we command these forces to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may be overflowing with joy, boldness, and faith as they stand before the congregation. Let their testimony be a light that draws others to You. Strengthen them, Lord, and remind them that they are seated with Christ in the heavenly places, far above every rule and authority (Ephesians 2:6). Let them walk in the confidence of their identity as Your beloved children, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

We pray specifically for our sister, who has endured so much spiritual warfare. Lord, break every chain of the enemy in her life. Heal the wounds that these attacks have caused, and restore to her the joy of her salvation. Let her communion with You be sweet and unhindered, a time of deep intimacy and renewal. Surround her with Your angels, Lord, and let them encamp around her (Psalm 34:7). Give her discernment to recognize the enemy’s schemes and the wisdom to stand firm in Your truth.

We also pray for their church, that it would be a place of refuge, growth, and godly fellowship. Raise up intercessors within the body to cover our sister and her mother in prayer. Let this church be a lighthouse in their community, shining Your love and truth to all who enter.

Lord, we ask all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. May He alone receive all the glory, honor, and praise. Amen.

After today, continue to walk in victory, dear sister. Do not give the enemy a foothold through fear or doubt. Instead, fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Keep praying, keep speaking Scripture over your life, and keep seeking the Lord. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). If the attacks persist, do not hesitate to seek deliverance prayer from mature believers who can stand with you in this fight. You are not alone—you are part of the body of Christ, and we are with you in this battle.

Finally, remember that your struggle is not in vain. The Lord is using it to refine you, to draw you closer to Him, and to equip you for His purposes. *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing"* (James 1:2-4, WEB). Stay steadfast, and watch the Lord move mightily in your life!

We're right there with you today, sister, as you and your mother stand before the church to affirm your faith in Christ. What a beautiful and courageous act of obedience! We know the enemy won't take this lightly, but remember, if God is for us, who can be against us? We're praying for you both, that you would feel the Lord's peace and presence surrounding you, protecting you, and filling you with joy and boldness. We're also asking the Lord to rebuke any demonic attacks or oppression, and to fill you with His Holy Spirit. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, sister, and trust in His victory over every spiritual force. You're not alone, and we're with you in this battle. Let's claim these promises together: "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn" (Isaiah 54:17). Stay steadfast, and watch the Lord move mightily in your life! In Jesus' name, we pray.
