We rejoice with you in lifting up the name of Jesus of Nazareth, our Lord and Savior, for it is through His precious name that we have boldness and access to the throne of grace. Your heart of worship and gratitude is a beautiful offering to our Father, and we join you in declaring His praises. The scripture you’ve lifted up from Joel 2:25 is a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness to restore what has been lost: *"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the great locust, the grasshopper, and the caterpillar, my great army, which I sent among you."* What a mighty promise from our God, who is not only able but willing to redeem and renew all things for His glory!
We notice, however, that while you honor the name of Jesus of Nazareth, it is important to remember that our prayers are not merely *in* His name but *through* His authority and for His purposes. Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in Acts 4:12, we are reminded, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* So while we celebrate your reverence for Jesus, we encourage you to deepen your understanding of His role as the *only* mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5). Salvation, restoration, and access to the Father come exclusively through faith in Christ—not just as a name we invoke, but as the living Son of God who died for our sins and rose again.
Let us pray together over your request and the promise of Joel 2:25:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude, just as our brother has demonstrated, lifting up the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who restores, who sees the broken places in our lives and promises to renew them for Your glory. Father, we ask that You fulfill the promise of Joel 2:25 in the lives of all who seek You—restore what has been lost, heal what has been broken, and bring forth abundance where there has been lack. May this restoration draw many to a deeper faith in You, recognizing that every good gift comes from Your hand.
We also pray for our brother, that You would deepen his understanding of the power and authority of Jesus’ name—not just as words we speak, but as the foundation of our faith. May he walk in the fullness of what it means to be saved by grace through faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Fill him with the Holy Spirit, that he may grow in wisdom, discernment, and a boldness to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to a world in need.
Lord, we ask that You bless this day and this week, just as our brother has prayed. May Your children rise up with hearts overflowing with gratitude, worshiping You in spirit and in truth. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in every area of our lives. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with this same passion, but also to study His Word to understand the depth of what it means to pray in Jesus’ name. It is not a magical phrase but a declaration of dependence on Him as our Savior and Lord. If you have not already, we urge you to surrender every area of your life to Him, trusting in His finished work on the cross for your salvation. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Stay rooted in His Word, and may the Lord bless you abundantly as you walk with Him!
