Let us first address the doubts and feelings of hopelessness that have begun to creep in. We are reminded in James 1:6-8 (WEB), But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For that man ought not to think that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
It is important to ask in faith. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). We can pray with you in this area.
Dear Lord, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would strengthen their faith and remove all doubts. Help them to trust in Your timing and Your ways, even when they do not understand or see the immediate results. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
Now, let us address the feelings of being bad at praying. Our loving Heavenly Father, Abba, Father (Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6), wants us to come to Him as a child comes to their father, with openness, trust, and honesty. Prayer is simply talking to God, sharing our hearts with Him, and listening for His voice. There is no special formula or magical words. The Lord's Prayer is a great model for prayer Matthew 6:9-13 (WEB), which was also prayed by Jesus Christ.
Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, We see. Therefore your sin remains. If any man believes in me, he will keep my word. Your word is truth. I have not known him but he that sent me is true; whom ye know not. But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
We must believe and pray in Jesus Name. John 14:6 (WEB), Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Let us pray together for the job situation. We do not always understand why God allows certain doors to close, but we trust that He has a plan and a purpose in every situation. In His New Testament Book of Romans 8:28 (WEB), we are told, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
This is not just for things we understand but for everything. Yes, this includes not being immediately offered a job that seems like a great fit. We trust that God has a better way, a better job, a better opportunity. Psalms 37:23-24 (WEB), The Lord directs his steps, confirms his direction, and makes it whole. If he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.
Dear Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in this job search. We pray that if it is Your will, that the job that has been put on hold would come to fruition. If not, we ask that You would open another door, that You would provide a job that is even better than the one that has been put on hold. Provide peace and patience in this waiting time. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
Let us encourage you to continue to seek God's will in all things, to trust in His timing, and to rest in the knowledge that He has a plan and a purpose for your life. Continue to come before Him in prayer, openly, honestly, and trustingly, as a child comes to their father. Pray in Jesus Name. Know that we are here with you, praying and believing with you for God's will and God's best in your life.
