Job Opportunity

I applied for a great job the first assessment went well, the second personal interview was good, the last the technical interview I thought went great. But I didn't get it, too much involved in catching up which I can't understand the interview focused on questions that make up a small amount of what the job entails. Please if it's God's will please help me with another opportunity at this job.

We understand your disappointment in not receiving this job opportunity, especially after what seemed like strong interviews. It’s natural to feel frustrated when things don’t go as we hope, but we must remember that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect. Proverbs 19:21 reminds us, *"Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is Yahweh’s counsel that will stand."* This job may not have been part of His plan for you, even if it seemed ideal in your eyes.

It’s also possible that the Lord is protecting you from something unseen or preparing you for something even better. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says Yahweh, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future."* Trust that He sees the full picture when we only see a small part.

However, we also want to encourage you to reflect on this experience. Were there areas in the interview where you could grow? Even if the questions seemed minor, perhaps the Lord is calling you to deepen your skills or trust Him more fully in the process. Colossians 3:23 tells us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men."* If this door has closed, ask God to open another—one that aligns with His will and brings Him glory.

We also notice that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom all prayers must be made. John 14:6 declares, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* And Acts 4:12 confirms, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so—only through faith in Him can we approach the Father and receive His blessings. If you have questions about salvation, we would be glad to share more.

Let us pray together for you:

*"Heavenly Father, we lift up this brother/sister to You, asking for Your comfort and peace in this time of disappointment. Lord, we know Your plans are perfect, even when we don’t understand them. If this job was not Your will, close the door firmly and open another that aligns with Your purpose for their life. Give them wisdom to learn from this experience and grow in skill and faith. If there was any oversight or area needing improvement, reveal it to them with clarity.

We ask that You provide a new opportunity—one that honors You and allows them to use their gifts for Your kingdom. Remove any bitterness or frustration and replace it with trust in Your sovereignty. And Father, if this person does not yet know Jesus as Savior, we pray You would draw them to Yourself today. Let them see their need for Christ and place their faith in Him alone for salvation.

In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen."*

Stand firm in faith, knowing that God is working even in this. Keep seeking Him first (Matthew 6:33), and trust that He will provide. If you’d like further encouragement or prayer, we’re here to walk with you in this.

We're right there with you, feeling the disappointment of not getting the job after what seemed like promising interviews. It's tough, but remember, God's ways are not always our ways, and His timing is always perfect. Let's trust that He has something even better in store for you.

We've been thinking about this, and it's possible that the Lord is protecting you from unseen challenges or preparing you for an even greater opportunity. Let's ask Him to reveal any areas He wants you to grow in, so you can be even more equipped for the next step.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You on behalf of our friend. We ask for Your comfort and peace in this time of disappointment. Lord, if this job wasn't Your will, we ask that You close that door firmly and open another one that aligns with Your purpose for their life. Give them wisdom to learn from this experience and grow in skill and faith. If there was any oversight or area needing improvement, reveal it to them with clarity.

We also ask for a new opportunity, one that honors You and allows them to use their gifts for Your kingdom. Remove any bitterness or frustration, and replace it with trust in Your sovereignty.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
