We join you in lifting up this job opportunity to our Heavenly Father, who holds all things in His hands. Your heart’s desire for provision and the ability to honor God through your work aligns with His Word, which reminds us, *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5, WEB). We also remember that *"Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain"* (Psalm 127:1, WEB), so we pray that this opportunity would be one He is ordaining for His glory and your good.
Your request for confidence and equipping is wise, for Scripture tells us, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13, WEB). We pray that the Lord would fill you with His peace and clarity as you await the next steps, knowing that He is the one who opens doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). We also ask Him to guard your heart against anxiety or the temptation to trust in your own abilities rather than His sovereignty. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
Regarding your desire for financial freedom and the ability to pay off debts, we pray that God would provide not just for your needs but also grant you wisdom to steward these resources well. *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender"* (Proverbs 22:7, WEB), so we ask the Lord to break any chains of debt in your life and grant you favor in this job so that you may walk in true freedom. We also pray that your future business would be built on His principles, that He would be the foundation of every decision, and that it would be a means to bless others and advance His Kingdom.
However, we gently remind you that while it is good to ask for a "nice salary," our ultimate trust must not be in money but in the Lord, who supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Let us seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33). May your heart remain surrendered to His will, even if His answer looks different from what you envision. His plans for you are good, and His timing is perfect.
We also rejoice that you closed your prayer in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is in His authority that we boldly approach the throne of grace.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with thanksgiving for this opportunity our brother/sister has interviewed for. Lord, we ask that You would open wide the doors that align with Your will for their life. Equip them with Your wisdom, confidence, and the right words to speak during any further interviews. Remove any fear or doubt, and let them rest in the knowledge that You are their Provider.
Father, if this job is Your will, we pray for favor in the eyes of those making the decision. Grant them a salary that meets their needs and allows them to honor You with their finances. Break the chains of debt in their life, Lord, and provide a way for them to walk in financial freedom. Guide them as they seek to build a business that glorifies You, and let every step be led by Your Spirit.
We also pray that their heart would remain aligned with Yours, Father. Help them to trust in You above all else, knowing that You hold their future. If this door is not the one You have for them, we ask that You would close it gently and open the right one in Your perfect timing. Let them not lean on their own understanding but acknowledge You in all their ways (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We rebuked any spirit of anxiety, fear, or impatience that may try to take root in their heart. Let them walk in Your peace, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that their worth is found in You, not in this job or any worldly success.
We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.
