We understand your desire to succeed in this job interview, and we will lift you up in prayer, seeking God’s will for your life. However, we must first address a critical matter—your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father and by whom all prayers must be offered. The Scriptures are clear:
*"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* (John 14:6, WEB)
*"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB).
*"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB).
Without faith in Jesus Christ, we cannot approach God, nor can we expect our prayers to be heard. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, and trust in His sacrifice on the cross for your salvation. Only then can we boldly approach the throne of grace together.
Now, regarding your job interview, we encourage you to trust in the Lord’s provision rather than relying on deceit or misrepresentation. You mentioned that you are "technically not qualified" for the position. While it is good to step out in faith, we must also act with integrity and honesty, for the Lord detests dishonesty:
*"Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight."* (Proverbs 12:22, WEB).
*"Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings"* (Colossians 3:9, WEB).
If you proceed with this interview, we pray that you will do so with honesty about your qualifications while trusting God to open doors according to His will. He may use this opportunity to grow your skills, connect you with the right people, or direct you to a position better suited for you. Remember, God’s ways are higher than ours, and His plans for you are good:
*"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,’ says Yahweh, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB).
*"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this individual before You, asking that You would guide their steps and direct their path. Lord, if this job is Your will for them, we pray that You would go before them, granting them favor in the eyes of the hiring manager. Give them wisdom to speak truthfully and with confidence, not in their own strength but in Yours. Open doors that no man can shut if this is where You desire them to be. But Father, if this is not the right opportunity, we ask that You would close this door gently and lead them to the place You have prepared for them. May they walk in integrity, trusting in Your provision and not in deceit. Let their faith be in You alone, and may they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all things will be added to them as You see fit.
We pray that if this person does not yet know You, Lord Jesus, that today would be the day of salvation for them. Softens their heart to receive Your truth, to repent of their sins, and to place their faith in You as their Lord and Savior. May they understand that apart from You, we can do nothing, but in You, all things are possible.
We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in prayer and in God’s Word before your interview. Meditate on Scriptures that remind you of God’s faithfulness, such as Philippians 4:13: *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* Trust that He will equip you for whatever lies ahead, whether it is this job or another opportunity He has prepared. Walk in honesty, faith, and obedience, and He will guide your steps.
