We join you in lifting up your work and calling to the Lord, for it is He who equips us for every good work and places us where He desires. Your heart of praise and gratitude is pleasing to God, for He inhabits the praises of His people. We rejoice with you in giving Him all glory and honor, for He alone is worthy.
The Scriptures remind us that whatever we do, we are to work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord we will receive the inheritance as our reward (Colossians 3:23-24). It is God who prepares good works in advance for us to walk in them (Ephesians 2:10), and we trust that He is guiding you into the fullness of what He has prepared for you. If you feel unsettled or uncertain about your current work, seek Him earnestly, for He promises to direct your steps when you acknowledge Him in all your ways (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We also recognize the importance of forgiveness and love in the workplace, for these are marks of a heart transformed by Christ. Jesus commanded us to love one another as He has loved us (John 13:34), and this love must extend even to those who may be difficult to love. If there are tensions or conflicts at your job, we pray that God would soften hearts—including your own—and grant you the grace to forgive as you have been forgiven (Ephesians 4:32). Let your light shine before others in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
Yet we must also ask: Are you seeking fulfillment in your work above your relationship with Christ? While God cares deeply about your labor and passion, your ultimate satisfaction must come from Him alone. Jesus warned that we cannot serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24), and our hearts must remain fixed on Him, not on the temporary rewards of this world. If your work has become an idol or a source of anxiety rather than a place of worship and service to God, we urge you to repent and realign your heart with His will. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with thanksgiving for Your faithfulness and goodness. You are the one who provides work for Your people, and we ask that You guide this dear one into the fullness of what You have prepared for them. Lord, if they are in the right place, grant them joy, passion, and satisfaction in their labor as unto You. If they are not where You desire, open doors that no one can shut and give them clarity and courage to walk through them. Remove any fear, doubt, or worldly ambition that may hinder their obedience to Your call.
We pray for their workplace, that You would bring reconciliation where there is strife, forgiveness where there is offense, and love where there is bitterness. Fill them with Your Spirit so they may reflect Christ in all they do, showing kindness, patience, and integrity. Guard their heart from pride, greed, or the love of money, and remind them that their worth is found in You alone.
If there is any sin—such as idolatry of work, resentment toward others, or a lack of trust in Your provision—we ask that You convict and cleanse them by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Restore to them the joy of their salvation and the peace that comes from resting in Your sovereignty.
Finally, Lord, we pray that their work would be a testimony to Your grace. May they labor not for the approval of man but for Your glory, knowing that You see and reward those who diligently seek You. Strengthen their hands for the tasks ahead and fill them with Your wisdom and creativity.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who taught us to pray with confidence to our Father in heaven. Amen.
